Thanks. The Shiva was great, but I like this tone a little better. I think it's sweeter. But I am a bit biased. I'm sure the Bogner guys will prefer the Shiva and the Diezel guys will prefer the Einstien. Although I do use a Bogner cab.

Sound real nice.

I assume from the tags on youtube you have BK pups in the LP. How do you like them? Which model?

Yes. I have Bare Knuckles in all my guitars. In this Epiphone it's a set of Black Dogs, hence the willingness to play Zep songs :D

The Black Dogs were my first set, and it was such a huge difference to any other pickups I had played before (mainly Seymour Duncan, EMG, Gibson, so no huge "Booteek PU" experience to be fair) that I gradually upgraded all guitars. I now have the famous Steve Stevens Rebel Yell set in my Axis, a VHII set in my PRS and P91/92 set in my Gibson Special.

I don't know if it's the scatterwinding or what, but these pickups make the sound more defined and bigger, at the same time open and punchy on the lower frets as well as smooth and compressed in the upper frets, quite astonishing I find.

If you check my other youtube Vids you can hear the PRS with the VHIIs (The Loner).

Great tone and it's more in line with Page's tone. I like it more than the Shiva for this tune. Thanks for posting.

Cool. I'll do that tonight. I am thinking about putting some BKs in my PRS. How to the VHIIs compare to PRS Dragons (if that was what were replaced).

Nah, I replaced the Korean SE pickups. My Singlecut is an SE one :o)

Compared to those, the VHII added a lot of clarity and bite, and they really have a lovely split/single coil sound.
For my taste they are almost too clean.

Rebel Yells are awesome pickups too, with a bit more dirt and mids in the bridge and a very clean neck humbucker, with significantly lower perceived output, that can sound like a vintage HB or a hot single coil.

If you wanna go for that silly grin and 80s punch, I recommend Holy Divers - I don't have them yet but the guys at the BKP forum are all swearing by them.

I have an SE also, do you have major tuning issues? I play the thing for about 5 minutes and it's out of tune. Thinking about putting some locking tuners on the thing for more stability.

No issues here. You should check your nut, probably it's cut for .009s and you use a bigger gauge strings.

Hi!

Well, this is my first post and I hope it's not too late to reply on this thread!

Man, you (and your great Led Zep Video) are responsible that I want an Einstein so much now!!! I heard and read only good things about the Einstein but the most clips here were a bit too much metal 'ish (also great but not really my cup of tea).

What I also want to know is:

50 or 100 Watt Version?
Does the amp sounds also that good when you play it at gig or rehearsal volumes???
How does this song sound without the RC-Booster?

Thanks
bye Beetlejuice

100W version

Surely sounds good at any volume, adjusting the depth and presence as you turn it up will do in most cases. It gets a bit more juicy when you work at volume, which is a good thing.

Sounds the same without RC if you can turn up the amp a bit, the RC adds a bit harmonic richness and sustain, pretty much like a cranked tube amp does. I use it with any amp and most of the time it is on.

In general I wouldn't buy an amp based on clips only, always try before you buy, even if it's very difficult to find one.
