Can I simply put these in my Einstein and VH4S without biasing? If so, do I need matched pairs or quads?

ALso same question for Koch Powertone II, but I doubt many people on here are familar with that amp...

Froehliche Weihnachten!

thanks,

Hi Brian,

they need to be matched (quartets - if you have a newer Einstein with external bias two pairs or an older: quartet). Get yourself a Weber Bias RIte and then DIY. We'll help you - its easy.

I bought my Einstein in Nov05. How can I tell if it is old or new style?

thanks,

brian

For the Weber unit, would I need octal or 9 pin? I am not too wioth it when it comes to tubes...

ALso, how do you determine bias for a given amp? I thought modern amps were supposed to be plug and play with certain classes of tubes (i.e. replacing EL34 type with more EL34s would not require biasing...).

I do have the newer Einstein. I read the biasing directions on the diezel website. It says to remove the jack fuse. No idea which one that is...

thanks,
brian
