Guess it was bound to happen.......Richie must have brought bad luck!! Was jamming out on a brand new set of the Tung Sol EL34B's and one blew and took a fuse. Drag man. So they are going back. Don't know if I should try another set or just get something else. They did sound really good though!!

Where is that richie....  That sucks man,I've got a set of GTE34ls in my Mod and they've been sounding great,I think maybe I should quit while I'm ahead :D

Man, I'm taking extra good care of my Ruby EL34s in my VHT 2/50/2. It's a 2006 model, and so far so good. Maybe these are some EL34s before they started getting wonky.

I've had the TungSol EL34Bs in one channel of my RT2/50 for two weeks now and they sound awsome, really like them!

Yeah, it's a bummer. Maybe it's just a run of bad luck that's been overdue for me or something. I just got two new Tung Sol reissue 12AX7's that were both bad and a new Ruby 12AX7 just went microphonic last night!! I haven't had this many go bad over several years!!

I did pick up some used Ruby EL34's and they sound great.......at least for the few hours I played them.

Plus I didn't have any fuses on hand!! Trip to Radio Shack today!

I recently bought two TungSol 12AX7's and both went bad after only about an hour's playing. Actually the only two preamp tubes that went bad out of about 30 tubes of different brands.

Well, fuse is back in and the Mod is up and running! Got the 5881's in now.

Man, I love this amp!!
