Is this thing for real?

Has anybody tried this pedal through a 4x12"? Does it push air?....At 44 watts, you would actually expect it to. How does it sound?

Is this a viable alternative to carrying around a backup power amp (or head) for a rack system?

Discuss.

I want one. I wanted 22 Cal but after I heard the demo's it sounded like it dirtied up too much. You could bring a character series pedal and the 44 for your entire rig. Extreme space and back pain saving rig.

Could, and how would you incorperate this into a small 5 watt amp for some added volume and headroom?

A buddy of mine that is a pro player got one as a backup amp. He seems to like it.

Two pedals and a decent 1x12" cab, and you have a complete rig. If there is a house cab, you can put the entire amp in your pockets and go

IM wondering the same thing I always bring a power block as a backup but this woudl be even better since any sapce I can save the better, figure suhr riot into this woudl be good to get thru any amp failure

Greazygeo was using a 22 to slave his Marshall - I was gonna try one too, but now I'm waiting for this - could be cool!

would this be ideal for slaving out a non-effect loop amp along with a separate cab? Seems like it would be.

They have a built-in preamp/tone circuit though, which IMO, makes them useless as a backup "power amp" since you can't use a normal, line level preamp into the input.

bad design choice, IMO.

I think the 44 mag was intended to be used at the end of a pedal change into a guitar cab. I agree it would be cool if they had a switch to bypass the preamp or a switch to change from a guitar input to a line leve input....

I use two of the .22 caliber versions to run my w/d/w rig with the 3rd Power head. I run the line out into an effects unit, then send stereo outs to the two .22 calibers which run the outside cabs. It works and sounds great. I have to keep the level fairly low, but it sounds as good as a solid state rack unit to me.
