I've been back on a terrestrial radio kick lately, sick of streaming and Sirius can actually get pretty repetitive as well.
I was listening to a radio show last Sunday morning and the subject of Elvis came up. I'm a fan.
The DJ was talking about Elvis and Sam Phillips in the early days and mentioning Elvis' great bass player, Bill Black and guitarist Scotty Moore.
Then went on to talk about no drums being recorded on some early tracks and then went on to play Heartbreak Hotel as an example.
Holy shit, mind blown!
As many times as I have heard that track, I have never noticed the omittance of the drums.
The thump of the upright bass gives the impression of a kick keeping time.
Pretty cool.
