I need some good speakers for hard rock... The catch: they got to be eminence though...

I guess follow your ears... Why do they HAVE to be Eminence?

V.

The governer is similar to v30s (smoother) and the wizard is similar to g12h30's.

I still recommend celestions though.

Diezel used to have a custom celestion speaker. I'm not sure on those though.

It's no endorsment or anything like that. The thing is I am in Argentina and this manufacturare who makes custom cabs only uses Eminence. I could order the cab unloaded and then import some Celestion. The thing is the market down here is pretty small and everything has to come from abroad with hugh import taxes and stuff. Plus I'll have to make all the necessary arrangments to bring it.

So yeah I was thinking not complicating matters and going the Eminence Road. I have had no expirience with these speakers before, thats why I am asking for opinions.

Trying them is a possibility but is somehow limited because I have to order which speakers I want, there really isn't a big selection of stuff to play and everthing is custom order from a city which is 500 miles from where I live...

So pretty much I am buying basing on suggestions... So I appreciate the help ( I bought the Einstein because of Rig-Talk and thats a fact, In fact I had never ever heard a Diezel in person till the day I plugged mine in)

Tonker 12" with the Einstein. Is the Einy you're getting a 100W model?

V.

I already have the Einstein 50 W head, and am getting a 2x12 cab to go with it....

2 x 12" Tonkers it is...

Glad you agree, Herr Peter.

Phew!! :salute:

V.

We used some Tonkers long ago at Salwender International
and had good results. The guys from Eminence USA were
always kind and helpfull.

:salute:

hey, brother
what's the import tax in argentina?
I'm in brazil and buying speakers here is a pain in the a$$
I usually buy celestions from ebay and ask the sellers to declare low values, so they rarely get stuck in the customs
just bought a pair of scumbacks from capulin overdrive here

I also have a pair of brazilian made MG Music Black Dogs and those things are kicking my celestions asses tonewise
they are supposedly close to weber silver bells
kurt mueller cone, aluminum basket, 40 oz magnet, small dust cap, pre-rola style paper bobbins
they sell them as greenback clones, but they have silver bell specs and sound louder and much fatter than the green and blackbacks I had (about 99db)
I'd say it sounds somewhere between a G12M and a G12K100

I can also recommend the new Alien Ace speaker, which is more Vintage 30 oriented
there's also the Snake Vintage 60, but I never heard that one

there's an argentinian old school dude that used to build guitar speakers and amps
I don't know if he's still making speakers, but that man know more about amplification than anyone I've seen
his name is Juan Manuel Fahey
I can get you in contact with him (he's on Orkut)

Btw, Rez....

LOVIN' the Necromancer tune.

F*ckin' LOVE it!!

Custom Eminence! I got V30s and Diezel custom Eminence in both my Diezel cabs and I couldn't be happier with the mix.

That would be awesome, sure would like to talk to that guy.

The import tax is 50% in Argentina its outrageous... Plus you can never be to sure if those custom agents are going to steal your stuff... how about in Brazil?

didn't know argentina had high import taxes too
here it's 60%(!!!) and sometimes we have to pay an extra 18% VAT over the total value with taxes (sometimes we have to pay the taxes over the shipping cost too)

I think Juan is in Buenos Aires
here's his orkut profile: http://www.orkut.com.br/Main#Profile.as ... 6209925470
I'll PM you his e-mail

Hi Guys

I 've an home made 2*12 cab with Eminence Governor & Wizard, connected to my Eny Head 100w.
Very nice and sweet from blues to hardrock (ac/dc like), well balanced. I play only in my homestudio and the mix Eny + eminence cab is great.

for hardrock i like V30 in mix with eminence gb128 in the engl xxl.
