Eminence "The Governor"

Anyone have any experience with these? Quality? Crap? What do they compare to?
 
good quality for sure, but tone is relative
it does not sound anything like a vintage 30 or any celestion, unlike some people claim
eminences have their own tonal signature
I usually find them too clinical and not as organic as celestions and webers, but they don't sound bad at all
I mean... it does have the middy voicing and all, but not the hairy texture of a celestion
I've been using an eminence wizard for a year and it's also nothing like a G12H or the scumback H75's I had
 
I have one in my splawn 2x12.
I love it.
I don't have much experience with any other speakers so can't compare.

Been running Governors for about a year now. I find them to def. be in the same sonic ballpark as Vintage 30s, but a bit dark and not as fizzy under a mic.
 
supposed to be eminence version of vintage 30. a bit different though. def a little darker, but sound ok. I have a 4x12 with 2 governors and two WGS version of greenback and play a ccv through it and it sounds really good, I was really surprised.
 
Hmm, the Governor sounded more like the Celestion 75 to me. It seemed like it doesn't have the presence or top end like some of the others had?
 
I run 2 classic lead 80's and 2 Goveners! Love them both speakers cut the sizzle of a 30 with a bit more bottom!

I hated them. Sorry. Just a weird graininess that was always present.
 
not sure what they are "supposed" to be but I have a Splawn 4x12 with Guv'nors and Man o Wars. Its a kick as cab. I had thought that speaker combo was supposed to be like a V30 in and 75's in an X pattern.
