Made this one for fun, basically going over a couple of my favorite purchases over the course of the year.

What were some of your best pick ups for 2020 other than the Rona?

Today the Joyo Zombie was the best. Best of the year? It’s up there with some pedals and pickups.

My best pickup was a 1971 Marshall Superbass 100W for a killer deal. I offered cash and offered to drive 11 hours total to pick it up. I was on the road at 6am and didn’t get home until 5:30pm the same day. Ironically, I purchased it exactly 17 years to the day that the original owner passed. It won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Fractal FM3. Never thought a day would come when I'd actually be excited about a modeler for anything other than quickly recording some tracks to reamp later.

Not counting homebuilt amps/guitars probably a Marshall 4x12 that only had 2 Creambacks in it (the other two speakers are for sale here as 'Nobacks'). I had an extra early 70s Greenback and a mid 70s Blackback and after putting them in and rewiring it's my favorite cab.

EDIT: I forgot the PS-2. It's a toss up. Been using both a ton lately.

AMP: my fully loaded Splawn SuperSport
guitar: my 2001 Trans black Jackson SL-1

A new Warmoth neck to bring my original Squier guitar back to life. With all of the other aftermarket changes over the years, only the body is now original, but the new bench made an unplayable guitar now a joy to play. Coupled with the sentimental attachment, it almost felt like the best NGD.

Also, Helix 3.0. Not sure if it counts, but it finally made the remainder of my pedalboard expendable.

I picked up a 95 Explorer and 93 Studio Les Paul that I put a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion / DDJ in the bridge.

I was looking for a Les Paul I was happy with for 20 years. Only other one I really liked showed up in that time. The other one the owner would not sell it. Unfortunately it was stolen a few years ago.

Out of pedals the Rockett Icon and VFE Standout.

I put 6L6GE in my Tremoverb, Heartbreaker and Mark IV. It might be the best these amps ever sounded.

Cool review. From one Schecter and Splawn abuser to another....

Only complaint was you didn't do a little 1 minute A-B-C-Y comparo riff :D

1987 Red Stripe Mark III SRG.
I could chunk low end power chords for 2 hours straight and I wouldn't get bored or stop smiling the entire time.

whoa!! 11 hour drive!! That is dedication!!!

my best acquisition of the year just squeezed by at the end of the year by a few days:

Suhr Reb Beach, AMAZING guitar. Playability is off the charts, and it sounds great.

Marshall 1988 1959 Super Lead Reissue and Marshall JCM900 SLX 2100, both purchased the last two weeks of the year.
