What amps (tops) are being faked, can anyone tell? Marshalls?

If so Engl Powerball(?) copping Marshall tonezz?

I remember seeing a clearer version of that pic and those are savages if I remember correctly...could be wrong though
 
No way could they be Savages, look at the grill. Powerball, or Fireballs 100's.
 
I like ENGL and one one myself. But I wouldn't want it to be the only amp I own, so that's why it's not.

The grey metal grill and chrome faced chassis indicates a Powerball I or Fireball 60.
 
Double line of controlls, PowerBall or Fireball 100. Fireball 60, has one line of controlls.

The picture surfaced a longtime ago and has been posted numerous times of the years. I believe the band was Amon Amarth or something.

I think the fake empty head/cab shells are supposed to be Marshalls... as you can see the black plastic corner protectors that Engl doesn't use. Engl corner protectors are shiny silver metal.

It may have been a gig where that back drop was used by several different bands too. I've seen it before at concerts. A wall of empty Marshalls and all the different bands play in front of it.
 
How is using Engl a fail you ask?

- Doesn't cut through a mix (especially the Powerball I)
- Terrible quality (PCB, transformers, etc.)
- Sounds bad? That's just opinion, but you can get much better amps for the money, although Immortal probably got them for free, being endorsed (like 1000 other Engl endorsees)
 
They're powerballs, this picture was around long before the fireball 100 was released.
 
The Savage is one of the best sounding amps that I've ever played through. What's the QC issue with their PCBs?
 
I don't get the big deal about this pic? Playing a festival like this, I'm sure that Marshall background was for asthetics, and was probably up for the entire festival, not just one band.... Weird this is even being talked about IMO....
