Engl fireball 100 vs pod hd300

Well i have both, so i decided to make a quick test.

Fireball has the midgain boost switch on, i read at line6 homepage that their modelation was done with that.
Pod in fireball's loop, with the settings: preamp,+live mode+stackamp
both clips are recorded thru same cab and mic incl placement.
The reason i did this clip was not to compare whats best, just wanted to get you an idea how the real thing sound vs digital copy

Here is the same clips but in mp3 and with guitarhack impulse.

*edit* looks like pod hd300 and hd400 don't have "no cab" option. they use something that's called "specially voiced live cab" so i guess hd500 will sound alot better when using no cab option. if you are hd300/400 user this is what you get if you doing this method .hope this clip still be interesting to someone

you've got that fireball dialed in well - one of the better recordings i have heard of it based on the recordings on youtube. sounds a little dark for some reason to me? could be the speakers though. either way sounds good

well i'm new on record things with microphones, i tried to place it near first. but did'nt like the sounding. here the mic is 20inch from the speaker, maybe that's why it's sound dark?

This i time i gave it a couple minutes to sound similar, iknow you can probably dial the amp and pod better but thats not the main reason i did this test, was unhappy with my last comparison and i think this is more fair.
btw it's still the hd300 model so even if i have the preamp signal from pod the sound still changes when i change cab.

Eq is different, with the same settings, pod did't even sound near. (probably because "specially voiced live cab"
I have used the same impulse on both clips.
One guitar track and no post eq.
