really sounds pretty awesome in these 2 videos to me, nice warm overdrive, and cabable of getting some in between tones.

But not much news on this yet.

$749 for the head. Not cheap for a little guy, but not overly expensive like the mesa transatlantic. Really intrigued.

anyone have first hand experience with this little guy?

Looks very cute :D
Price tag is ~500€ in EU which is acceptable and this little guy have enormous + over Transatlantic - it has effects loop. And it is also much cheaper (I can buy two Engls and Tubescreamer for one Transatlantic here in EU)

Geez, that thing rocks.

Yeah I am thinking the same thing. Sounds awesome here, a nice warm drive that fits both for blues and rock possibly. Singing leads. wish there was one around here I could try out

If you like the Engl tone, it's a pretty good package. On the other hand, you can almost get two Tweakers for that money, I prefer the tone of the Egnater.

I liked the tweaker, but, loosely based on these few videos floating around, I would say that I prefer the sound out of the Engl over the tweaker. I have never plugged into an Engl amp before.

Aren't you from Europe? I think there the Engl must be cheaper. And made in Germany vs China I suppose.

Have you tried it? How does it compare to a screamer, thunder, fireball? Does it bring the brootalz and low-end?

Man, that sounds good!

My problem with all the other manuf. small heads is the lack of loop. ENGL solved the problem. AND, the price is silly. GAS.

yeah a loop is a big deal for me, specially if I want to use it live. I love the smaller head, wattage, and 15 watts is about perfect for me at this point. I hope this thang sounds as good as I hope it does.

Engl rules! I want one of these to go along with my Blackmore!!

-Price here is almost the same (569€ = 749$)
-Made in Germany should be a good thing, but as long as the quality is right, I don't mind where it's made, Chinese people need to live, too ;)
-I heard and tried it on the Musikmesse. Not 100% sure if they tweaked the circuit afterwards but I don't think so. The Messe demo was impressive sounding, but it was mostly high gain lead tone with loads of effects. IMO the tone of an amp comes through more on dryer rhythm stuff. In general I dislike the compressed character and "special" mids of Engls.
-I played the Tweaker too at Messe and LOVED it! Much more open and dynamic sounding IMO. But no clean channel.

I have an Gig Master 15 head since a few weeks.
I'll try to answer a questions if there are any ;)

Regarding the pricing:
head is 499EUR, which is 50 EUR more than Tweaker (still on my GAS list :))
and 700EUR cheaper (sic!) than Transatlantic

Cool Sikor!

Could you do a mini-review for us? Sound, available volume, build quality, how does it compare to the bigger engl products? Made in Germany?

Also, the ENGL Gigmaster cab looks like a pretty good deal for ~£150 in the UK.. it's a 110 though, if it were 112 I'd definately consider it for my bedroom.

two flights of stairs and a small car don't really accomidate a 412 well. I'd like to have a 112 for practices/home playing. :)

What do you have against 110s  ? Have you actually played one? In fact they might be better for your bedroom.

Any other opinions on the little engl?

$849 US for the combo--I'm thinking that's the way to go with the slave and speaker out options. Use it stand-alone, rock it through the board, or with a bigger cabinet.

Might just have to pick up one of these!

I am seriously gonna pick up the head here hopefully soon. I was torn between the Jet City amps, but honestly, I don't need much over 15 watts for what I do and where, anything more might be completely overkill. I can't wait to be able to scoop one up and try it first hand and post my results.
