Engl is starting to get confusing with their extensive lineup. I used to have a Gigmaster and liked it a lot. Really great sounding amp. Then the Ironball came out and to me sounded like the Gigmaster but with a little more flexibility and a better clean channel. Then the Rockmaster comes out and it seems to be more in the vein of the Artist edition. The Gigmaster now seems like a third wheel, but it's just as good as the Ironball and Rockmaster. What do you guys think? Seems like the Rockmaster kind of takes over now.

Never played one. Played the Ironball and liked it quite a bit for an el84 amp.

I had the rockmaster and although it had a great clean and cool features my 5153 LBX shit all over it for distortion so it went...

Maybe I'm biased, but I would consider the Gigmaster more of a toy/gimmick next to the Ironball.
Note that the Gigmaster has 1 preamp tube, while the Ironball has 4.

Also, I hear quite a few people say that the Gigmaster doesn't sound typically 'Engl', whereas the Ironball definitely does.

Man I thought the LBX sounded bad in comparison to the 50w & 100w models. I just can't see this being true unless you just like bright, piercing tone. Well, I know tone is very subjective, so I respect your preferences even though it's quite an exaggeration to say it shits all over a great amp.
