Well most of them. Buddy came over and we put a 57 to each one through my Mesa cab. A lot of fun. Recording trimmed down was about a half hour. My ears are ringing. I figured I’d post the raw audio for you guys to check. Also went down the 2 channel vs 3 channel recto rabbit hole while we were at it. I trimmed up that specific part going through various boosts and unboosted (where the difference stood out the most.

Switched back and forth with C standard tuned guitar and E standard.

These are mono tracks. Not stereo so think about that before commenting something about that. There is no eq or processing here AT ALL.

Definitely some amps I’m still learning whereas I feel plugging into my recto I know exactly how I like it. I’ll add I think I finally figured out how to dial my MTL to where it’s my favorite in the wizard line.

Favorites today… tough one. Rectos, mtl
, MOAB probably. But so tough to decide. All are killer in their own ways.

Through phone speaker I liked Megalith Beta.

Great collection man! 🤘🏻🔥

Didn’t get to the modern classic, Monomyth vintage modern, vht deliverance. My ears were shot by then. This was about 4 hours of amps at volume.

Hell Razor & Stealth ftw
Both are killer man. For the 1200 bucks I spent on the stealth, couldn’t be happier.

If I had to do it over again I’d put less ass on the Herbert, beta, and iic++ I definitely overdid it there for what I’d actually do in a recording. But in the room sounds so impressive and shakes an entire house lol.

Hell Razor was my overall favorite here and then either the Beta or Recto. I've owned or at least played all these amps except a Ground Zero Recto and these comparisons more or less match my in-person preferences except for the iic+, which is one of my top 3 or 4 for high gain amps. The MTL was my 4th favorite here. The MC probably would've been up there too if it was included. I like the crisp quality of the Wizards

Always do playing with the band. Definitely didn’t today.

Yeah I will say a few amps we overdid the low end just to demonstrate how much they could actually have vs what I’d dial in for a band recording. Specifically IIC++ (wanted to show how a 60 water could somehow rattle an entire house), the beta, Herbert, Uber ultra.

Yeah the iic++ sounded like it could maybe be dialed in better. You had other clips where it sounded really good. I didn’t care as much for the 2 GZ’s, SK or UU in these clips. They came off bland and a little filtered vs others, which matches what I felt in person with them

For 1200 bucks man, couldn’t be happier. Amp records so easy. Blue channel a bit more middy, red more scooped and bigger. Both sound awesome.

yah my 50w records really easy as well, they are really tough to beat at the price point, or any price point. if i was gigging still i would have grabbed a 100w for sure, might still even if i find a deal like this

Can the prominent mids be dialed out of the Ground Zero?

Nice comparo! Just listening to what I hear as the best mids, Imma have to go with #1 MOAB and #2 Stealth. Makes me pretty interested in the MOAB actually.

My focus has been turned to "what sounds best in the live band mix".

The MOAB would have zero problems cutting. It’s like a knife. And its loudness level was on par with my hell razor 120… which is saying something.
