Right, you've guessed it; I'm having trouble cutting through the mix in a two guitar band when I'm using the Erect module.
I use my M4 with a Randall RT2/50, and when I'm on Erect I tend to use the 6L6 side. I like the Erect for textures and filling out the soundscape, but I tend to feel that it lacks definition and cut.

How do you guys set the Erect to be able to hear yourselves in the mix?

I find that I keep raising the level until I can hear myself, and then, when it's just me playing, it's loud as hell!

Should I move to the EG5 instead? Would it be good for a tight rythm sound?

What EQ settings do you use? Midrange tends to own the responsibility of cutting in a band mix so if you're scooping you'll get lost. If the Erect's midrange control is not voiced in a way that helps you, a graphic EQ could help.

Off the top of my head I'm keeping the Bass really low, say at 9 o'clock, Middle is set at 1-2 o'clock, and so is the Treble.

Should I be using the EL34 side of the RT2/50 instead, could that bring me more cut?

I used to use the Erect as my main module before my Benzin.

My settings in a two guitar band were, bass around 10 o'clock, mid 3 o'clock, treble, 2 o'clock, bright on 1

It worked for me

Cool! Thanks! Seems I need to crank those mids up another notch.

BTW, what tubes were in your MOD50 at the time?
