I'm pretty familiar with his signatures. The inlays are the main diference. The eagles are more desired once because that's what Jeff played, daggers and H are the later versions and Jeff didn't really played guitar with those. There are extremely rare signatures 'Hanneman with stars etc'
...and than there is the 2004, 2nd panther or Hitler youth, S and Key inlayed ones.
I'm tracking there only 12 made, 8- black, 4-camo. All with Floyd instead of the Kahler. The thing with those is that they say Standard Series, not Signature Guitars Or custom Shop. However, they made exactly to the Jeff's specs (minus trem), with his most controversial inlays.
I can't find any solid information on the internedz, can anyone share the knowledge of those, per favor?

I would rather have the Floyd over the kahler. I played a hanny with a kahler and I didn't really care for it; just because the bridge made the guitar feel like shit.

They also made the LTD version of the S&Key for a bit before they pulled production due to the SS inlay. Not too sure of the exact number but your in the ballpark of how many were made of the ESP version.

I'm pretty sure that all of the ESP sig series guitars that were being built around that time (2004) were all produced in one of their custom shops. It wasn't until more recently when they moved certain sig models to their standard series shops (prob around 2009). If you're able to find one of the S&Key hanny's I could already guess that it would prob be a real quality guitar. I feel that this era was ESP's most solid and quality controlled. All stuff coming from them around that time, even the LTD lines were on another level.

I know of a few people who own Jeff's personal guitars that he toured with and what not when he still was able to play. Recently his wife and a few private sellers flooded eBay with some of his guitars. I would rather keep an eye out for those over the S&Key. You're prob going to spend around the same money for either one if you're lucky enough to find one. Id say that all are equally as rare.

I have S & Key camo, it is superb guitar. Definitely better than Signature Series ones I had (daggers and eagles), and Floyd is only a plus. I was wondering why they are not signature guitars, but built to the specs. The LTDs of that era had JH-600 next to logo, ESP had nothing that said it was in any way associated with Jeff, besides the inlays, and the specs

I have owned and still own a bunch of Jeff's old personal guitars. I have gotten people deaths head inlay guitars, Heinekens etc.

Where to start? What do you want to know?

Also most of Jeff's personal guitars were T serial numbers and the input jack was placed up higher on the side of the body starting in 2006. He would sweat a lot while playing so the input jack would have to be repositioned.

Most consumer level "Jeff sigs" were either SS serials or K serials.

So the Standard Series and no mentioning of Jeff anywhere on the guitar...what's the story?

I do love that Urban Camo finish. I will definitely own an ESP with it one day.

SS serial guitars were made in a entirely different factory than the custom shop, I believe the factory just opened in 2004. Signature and Standard series were the same factory therefore SS serial numbers on both series. The S and key inlays were discontinued because early internet SJW got triggered by the evil inlays, so they just fulfilled whatever orders they had that few weeks before changing the inlays. I bet they just didn't have the logos yet for the S and Key guitars in camo at the SS factory. I also remember a controversy over the camo turning yellow with those early came guitars.

I wonder if ESP just used regular urban camo m2's and added inlays / hannemans control layout.

ESP does tweak their standard series line with certain mods if a dealer submits a small batch order of at least 10 guitars.

Too bad the old ESP forum went to shit, all of this info was over there.

Subscribing.

I have an 08 Kiso dagger, and even though it's not as cool as the more rare inlays, I have to say the fact that the daggers are mirrors is so dope in stage lighting..

I had couple standard MII comos, they all had issues with frets. As I understand that plagued all standard camos. This Hanny is all Hanny, neck, sound and feel...definitely not MII.

I think, and that's from reading bunch of stuff around, is that it was made to be a Hanneman signature all the way, but Kahler stopped producing trems at the time so they just cut the hole for Floyd...and because it's Floyd it's not exact Hanneman signature so they just stamped it at Standard.

Here's a question I have. My 2013 JH-600 has a 41mm nut shelf, which to me is a bit small. My 2008 Kiso Hanny has a 42mm nut shelf, which is pretty standard. I'd like to know which models have what width shelf, so I know what's up if I'm shopping for another one.

Honestly I prefer the 43mm shelf like my older Hammetts have, but other than that the Hannemans are consistently my favorite guitars to play. They just sound huge. My dream guitar would be my Hanny, but with a 43mm nut extra thin flat neck. From what I can find ESP has never done a NTB with the extra thin flat profile.

God,I have always wanted both the deaths head and the S&Key models. Also really want a Hanneman/Heineken model.

I was actually considering calling the guy who does artwork for ESP & seeing if he'd do the Heineken logo on one of my black Hannemans for me. I've always loved that setup, but not sure if I want to pull the trigger.
