It does sound pretty good, but I sure wouldn't shell out that kind of cash for it

Demo sounds cool, but I agree in what I think is a crazy price.

Gotta admit, sometimes I’d rather hear an iPhone demo rather that these “produced” demos. I know this amp won’t sound like this in my house.

What’s a more honest representation, a demo like this or an iPhone clip playing the same thing?

I've heard some bad demos of those Magnatones but one of our members did post some nice clips of one a few weeks ago.

The other thing is that Wizards sound like a ton of engineering and fine tuning artistry went into them. They’re tight and articulate, and have a ton of gain available, while also sounding pure and unfiltered, and they all have gigantic punch. They sound like the platonic ideal of tight high gain tone, at least to my ears.

That Magnatone by contrast sounds like a sloppy JCM 800. It sounds like there’s just not much to it, internally speaking.

Sure Wizards are probably more expensive than they should be in terms of industry average profit margin, but they also sound the part.

Perhaps you are right but I try not to worry about gear I can't afford anyways.

When I saw GNR in 2023 I thought Slash's tone was shitty and weak. Turned out he'd been using Magnatones instead of his Jubes. Weak.

Both can be honest, if I hold my iPhone in front of me and hit record it sounds as it does in the room, if I stick a 57 in front of the cone somewhere that’s what it sounds like mic’d, a great in the room tone though can sound like shit mic’d up

Sounds good, but not really 5K good. Though I'm not a fan of Slash's sound outside of its typical context.
I tap out at around 3K for what I'm willing to pay for an amp. Even then it needs to be damn good. Past that and it better be something super fuckin special and sound great in near any situation.

Waddy Wachtel uses a Magnatone combo amp live with Stevie Nicks, sounds GLORIOUS,!!

They’re incredibly overpriced for what is basically a wooly sounding Marshall. I felt I was pushing it, paying 2500 + tax for my Tone King Royalist a while back and I really think it sounds much better than this. At this price point I’m looking for a real metal panel instead.
Is this a ploy to make the new 1959 modded and Mesa Reissues seem like a steal? 😂

I feel the Magnatones that include their one of a kind amazing harmonic trem, and reverb that will go toe to toe with any Fender ever made are worth their steep asking price which is still short of the crazy price tag on this one.

I had a Magnatone Panoramic and it was an amazing amp. Great tone, stereo poweramps splitting that harmonic trem and reverb was just beautiful, and I've never heard another amp like it.

If I was shopping for this sound I would probably go Metropolous or Germino before looking at Magnatone.
