I'm really considering a TimeFactor for the loop of the Renegade. Anyone have any experience with this setup? Or with the TF in general?

What other options are there for quality delays, be able to select at least two delays on the fly, tap tempo, and no or little tone coloration? For a similar price, of course.

Thanks

I have a TimeFactor. I like it a lot. It's a little complicated, and that might be a drawback for some, but I like complicated. Still, a very flexible and powerful pedal. The MIDI and USB capabilities are nice. You can get some nice effects with an expression pedal as well.

Thanks Len.

The clips I've heard sound great. Even the presets. If they sound good out of the box, the rest is gravy.

Have noticed any coloration of tone or volume drops? That's the only complaints I've read and they were very minor, and only a few people said it.

I'm fairly convinced I'm going to pick one up. I think it'd be hard to go wrong with it and it has all the features I want.

I haven't noticed any volume drops if you set the thing right- unity gain, line or amp setting depending, right amount of effect- It's a complicated box.

Tonal changes? No- But it is an effects box. Changing the tone is what is does. It does have some modulation effects. You gotta spend time with it and get to know it. It's not a simple box.

;) :D

I have a TimeFactor as well.

It's an excellent box - very versatile and worth the time learning. The presets are good and it's very tweakable. You can set it up for either true bypass or buffered bypass if you're worried about tone suckage. However, in my experience the buffered bypass sounds great.

Highly recommended.

TimeFactor is great. I had one but replaced it with a Nova System that can do more in almost the same footprint. You will not be disappointed. It is the best rack quality delay that you can get on the floor.

Thanks guys. I've also found an interest in the Damage Control Timeline. Without midi, you're stuck with one delay on the fly, which is a down side, but your guitar signal is apparently passed analogue and a lot of people feel the delays sound better. It might be slightly less versatile though.

It's kind of funny, it seems the TimeFactor was the unit until the Timeline came out...then the TF was "sterile" sounding.

I think it'd be hard to go wrong with either unit and each has their strengths. Decisions, decisions.

+1 here. I love my Nova System....A LOT! :)

The people who are talking about volume drops aren't using it right- Like I said, it's complex. Set it on the DSP bypass- the factory default I think- and it won't do that.
