Failure modes of Renegade output transformers

I have a Renegade that everything seems to work but the volume is low? Is this a typical symptom of an output transformer failure? Is the failure usually on the primary side or the secondary side?


Any information is appreciated--
 
Update---The output transformer seemed to check out ok so I went back to looking at the pre-amp tubes. Earlier I had swapped the pre-amp tubes around when trouble shooting the problem.- I discovered that I had inadvertently moved a tube from a position that was used by both channels to another position used by both channels. :doh: I swapped this tube from V5 to V2 and sure enough channel 2 is now working. I went ahead and ordered 3 new tubes,--I think I will put the new tubes in V1, V5, & V6 -- trash the bad tube and save 2 others as spares---
