Fair value on a Rev G Dual Rectifier?

Edit: he just emailed that he sold it after receiving a bunch more offers and someone willing to show up this morning. He had it priced at $1K which seemed very good but wasn't sure if there was anything else to pay attention to.

Original info:
It's a big logo but the knobs have the pointers on them. I don't have a photo of the back yet, but the front looks like a solid rev G. The pointy knobs make me think it's earlier but maybe I'm mistaken? No mention of whether the power cable is attached.

I am going to try it out on Sunday morning. He claims that the amp is immaculate but we will see. There is only one picture. I don't know if it has a Schumacher transformer or not.

What should I be looking for when I check it out?
Would you trade a VGC Diezel D-Moll (without footswitch) for this? How much money would make sense from one side to the other?

I used to have a Trem-O-Verb that I really miss. That was the only Rev G I've owned or really played through, so I am hoping this may scratch the itch. I've also played a Reborn which I really liked, but was meh on the Roadster and 3ch Solos.

This is all I've got for right now.

Gorgeous amp, sorry you missed out on it. That's an insane price especially since it looks so clean. I have a similar later Rev G just like this (same logo and knobs), just really beat up cosmetically, but it absolutely rips. Definitely would not have the Mk III transformers but that doesn't make it any less badass - hope you find one you like. There's one with a spray painted red front panel on the GC website right now for like $1400 or so, but I just clicked on it to get you the link and it's not found so it must've sold too.

chasis looks so far back in the headshell.. weird

That's a very good price these days.

The pointed knobs put this head between '96 and '98, and all 2-channel Dual Rectifiers have Schumacher transformers.
I don't believe that's true. I think they stopped using the schumacher transformers around '93 or '94?? Not that it really makes a big difference on the tone at all. All two channel rectos sound good.

Also, for what it's worth OP, no Tremoverb is a rev G. They have their own board layout and corresponding revision codes. The early serial loop ones are RR-1D, and the common parallel loop ones are RR-1E. Rev G Dual Rectifiers are RF-1G.

It's true. Even though they switched to different transformer models mid-'93 for Rectifiers, all Mesa amps used Schumachers until they started using Magnetic Components Inc. transformers around 2001. Even the first 3-channel Rectifiers had Schumachers. Any transformer with "EIA606" on it is a Schumacher.

Maybe someone unscrewed it and pulled it out slightly to access preamp tubes better. That's the only reasonable thing I can think of.

Yeah something isn't right about the chassis and the diamond plate being set back so far,,,,,waay too far.
Also where is the top-handle?

1g tops
It was an unwanted pos 2 years ago
You fuggers have short memories. The Rev G super sux.
I paid $750 for my nearly perfect-condition all black 95 dual, but that was a decade ago when they fell out of trend.
They are fairly easy to mod if you have a bit of tech skills. (I do not)

It's just lens distortion. Notice at how unusually long the toggle switches and knobs look.
OK I see that now. Not sure I understand the physics of lens distortion but I'll add it to the long list of things I don't quite understand lol.

Everyone who has one these days should check out the Rev C mod on the Boogie Board; I did most of them (bypass 3 resistors, 1 LDR, and switch out the gain pots for 1K and presence pot for a slightly higher value that I can't remember).
Turns it into an even better sounding amp to my ears.

My RevG Serial R-800X from 96 had pointers as well.
