I'm looking into the BB Preamp or Fulltone Full Drive 2. They're both about the same price, the BB Preamp £10 more, but that's not the issue. I'm looking for the best match with the Mark IV. Something to Rhy1, for a mild OD on Rhy1, and perhaps to boost the Lead, if I'm lowering the gain for rhythm.

Anybody else used anything else that they particularly enjoy?

LordOvChaos Modded OD808. He made an already awesome pedal even better.

BB Preamp all the way. It usually wins out when i compare it to anything else, ESPECIALLY on the Mark Boogies. It's got a ton of gain though so the only only problem you might find is if you boost R2 or the clean then it would be way too much of a boost for the lead channel. Not that the lead channel really needs any boost.

But they do make a BB+, whichs has 2 modes so you could set one mode for a lot of boost for R2, and the other for a slight boost for the lead channel.

But, R2 and the BB is just smoking. Plus, NO mid hump with the BB.

I need to check this out!

I went through a whole boost pedal spree a while back and ended up right back where I started with a Maxon OD808. It jsut fits me.

Didn't you already make a thread about this before? I could have sworn I linked you on how to change an SD-1 into a Full Drive 2.

Yeah sorry, I made it in a hurry, and basically, in pure laziness.

How is the Fulltone OCD, fwiw?

You definitely should! I wasn't unhappy with my stock OD808 at all, I was just curious to hear what Joe's mod sounded like. He said he would even change it back to stock for free if I didn't like it. Awesome guy.

I am running some combination of a Micro Amp, Dano compressor, and Bad Monkey. I am in the process of buying a Barber Tone Press and some other higher end OD right now to try though. I can't seem to make up my mind with what I want.

I have found that the compressor works best with clean or OD tones to goose them a bit, the BM works best with OD tones and the Micro Amp fits better on lead lines. The comp gets the most use though.

the bb seems to work great either as a boost for low gain classic amps or as a boost for higher gained amps.

i pull my maxon od820 off the board and sub in the bb for more bite and modern mid gain sounds, and with the egnater tol 100 in channel 3 classic marshall toneland it's just a killer weapon.

I'm fine with the Maxon OD-9. Sounds great with the Mark IV and true bypass. I would love to try a BB-Preamp. I have heard nothing but great things about it.
