I would be handy to have an option for volume compensation when using Wall of Sound so that adding or removing cabs wouldn't affect the output volume. It would make tweaking much easier.

Hi Viljami,

it's not as trivial as it may seem. ;)

It's all about deciding if we deliver the same "perceived volume" (what you think is the same volume) or the "actual real volume" (for example there may be a lot of bass frequencies you don't hear but that can saturate the channel if we raise the volume to match a less bassy cabinet).

We already implemented some kind of volume compensation, but I guess we can always do better. Please give me an example of two cabinets that have a huge difference I'll try to find what we can do. ;)

I meant that for example when I add cabs, the volume increases and the other way around, when i delete cabinets, the volume decreases. Like three cabs is louder than two cabs. I would be nice if the volume didn't change at least in my opinion.

Oh now I understand.

I wonder if people will understand that their previous 3cabinets sound lower in order to make room for a 4th one. Because that is what happens. But it's worth a try!

Thanks Guillaume! To me it would be easier to do for example A/B testing if the levels wouldn't change. Levels, as we know are crucial, since the louder one almost always sounds "better" even though it's a whole different story when the levels are adjusted to be equal.

I've been using also the Ignite Amps NadIR Convolver and it has this handy Balance control with which you can blend between two IRs and the level stays the same. I understand that WoS is much more complicated thing, and that kind of control probably wouldn't work since you can load more than two IRs in it.
