Damaged my amp going to "edge of darkness" in Arkansas. I dont know who to use anymore.

the dude is able to basically fix it except one problem with the clean channel volume know. Its what I was most excited about on the amp. Its like a trainwreck circuit into the marshall type power section. dammit !

That sucks man! I guess all you can do is pack well and hope for the best.

I just shipped an amp from Michigan to Germany thru USPS Priority.
I have 100 Percent faith it will be in great shape when arriving.

Sorry to hear about the damage Jerry. :(

that always sucks.

I used USPS once to New York. Got there in perfect condition. Should have went there.. I just dont like the people at the counter. One time I went on and on about getting a passport. After listening to me for 20 minutes she points to a sign and says "passport" she didnt speak english. Working behind the counter, no english.

IF................I had a small boutique company that built amps, I would do the following:

1) Use a head shell of a common size (Marshall, Mesa DR)

2) Include with the amp an ATA road case for the head

3) Ship only via FEDEX 2 Day Air Express

These ATA cases can be had for $300 and add another $100 for shipping to be passed on to the consumer. This can be easily absorbed in the cost or as an option. Why take the chance anymore. Even being insured, who wants to fuck with a shipping company over damages? And, having a damaged amp arrive, even being cosmetic is a bit of a let down.

Steve

That sucks! I first put the head in plastic. Then I wrap it like a football in Bubble Wrap. I then suspend it in a heavy box no smaller than 30x18x18 in peanuts packed all around it. It could take a fall from 12 feet up which is what you have to pack for because boxes get pushed off of the conveyors. I have been inside UPS and saw how it worked. The last guy that just bought my Wizard said it took him 45 minutes to unpack the amp. Can't trust Fedex or UPS not to throw your amp around.

im for it but in my case , trying to offer a hand wired tube amp and still keep the cost reasonable, its difficult. If someone wants to pay all that, Im all over it.

if i get them to pay for shipping both ways, and I cant fix it over the friday night streaming video thing, can we ship it? I know your working on a project but its killing me that you havent heard that clean channel when its rockin.
