Scheduled for delivery today.
Never updated to out for delivery.
After 7PM, status updated to Pending. No delivery date specified.

Not the first time, won't be the last.

FedEx: over promising and under delivering. As usual.

Waiting for AI to improve accuracy in delivery estimates.

They know what's on the truck, they know where the truck is located in real time, they know traffic status in real time they can easily calculate estimated time of arrival, and update the status of every package every 10, 15, 20, 30, 60 minutes. They knew it wouldn't be delivered today, they could have updated the status before 7PM.

Waiting for AI / robotics to sort packages and load into trucks...

I am sorry, if I am getting you wrong, but why use them, if they are so bad?

FedEx is doing this to you out of pure "Spite" , bastards . I remember a time when the FedEx guy had my package on his truck but just drove back and forth on the main road giving me the finger as I stood outside with my arms up . I bet you got the same driver . Major A hole :uzi::uzi::uzi::uzi::bash::bash:

FedEx is bad here, but items usually arrive in good condition unlike UPS that seems to damage anything that weighs more than 5 pounds or bigger than a 1x12 cabinet.

I had a new amp coming with delivery from FedEx signature required. two days they said that no one was home, and I was home all day both days. On the second day, on the way to pick up my kid from school, I see a FedEx truck parked, and I ask the driver and give him my name, address and package number; turns out the amp was on the truck. I got the amp, put it in my car, then went back and asked the driver wtf? he said some lame excuse he was training a new driver (which was true as there were two guys in the truck, but irrelevant to my question).

Calling to report this crap to FedEx customer service was an exercise in futility and complete waste of time.

FED Ex
“It’ll get there eventually”
…..I wouldn’t care that much if they didn’t want a signature. Your best bet is have delivered to a Walgreens etc and get on with your life. You can sign for it at the Walgreens.

Free shipping. The other shipping choices are just as bad here, UPS, USPS, and you have to pay for it.
I just saw people here mentioning pirateship or something like that in a good way, But I didn’t know fedex is free.

Fedex isn't free, but @rsm probably got free shipping from the seller with his order (that's the only way I get free Fedex at least). I've moved to shipping to Fedex Onsite locations (Fedex Office, Walgreens, Dollar General, etc) for shipments to clients.

1) The Fedex commercial drivers do a better job with the boxes, Home Delivery bangs them up more often than not.
2) When it goes to a business, you have to show ID and have your tracking # so you can sign and they release the package to you...= no theft, etc. 3) The Fedex Onsite locations usually are available till 7-9 pm, so you don't have to sit at home waiting to sign for it, and lose time from work.
4) Having your ID to prove it's yours takes out the "Hi, I'm Mike Garcia, I'll sign for it!" that the residential drivers fall for. Lost 3 shipments last year to the con man ploy. And Fedex insurance doesn't cover impersonation, either.
5) In some cases it can be cheaper than Home Delivery, not always, but sometimes.

Just my .02 doing 80-120 shipments per month with Fedex. USPS sucks, UPS sucks harder.

out for delivery today. so we'll see.

@Scumback Speakers - yes the seller offered free shipping with FedEx as the only option, or I could pay for faster shipping with FedEx.

I think some issues with shippers are clearly location based.

It all depends on your personal driver and distribution centers of course, with any carrier.

However, I’ve never had a package arrived totally smashed/broken with FedEx, but multiple times with UPS. But on the other hand, I get FedEx less often probably because in general, they are more expensive.

I disagree that home delivery and business are different. I work for a company that ships a lot of computer related parts, and I’ve shipped probably thousands of items through ups, FedEx, and even DHL. I’ve had some crazy stuff happen, plenty of damaged machines even original manufacturer packaging (lots of form-fitted foam specific to the device). I once had an epson receipt printer fall off a FedEx truck, couldn’t find it, then months later it shows back up at the office delivered by UPS. That one was pretty funny.

Pirateship is simply buying a UPS label using a bulk discount shipping account. For those of you who don’t know, UPS and FedEx both have programs that offer discounted rates if you can guarantee a certain amount of shipped items per month. Many years ago I worked for an Annhesier-Busch subsidiary and we could overnight a 30lb package for a few bucks because we had an absolutely unbelievable bulk discount with FedEx. That’s all pirateship is, but instead of a company it depends on how many separate parties share that account. Part of the drawback is pirate ship uses a 3rd party insurer, so if something gets damaged it’s not on UPS to deal with, so that’s part of the discount too. Something to keep in mind when using that service. I’d still do it, it would take a seriously desperate situation for me to EVER pay retail price to ship a package and I can’t believe there is anyone out there who does - but I’m sure it’s because they just don’t know any better.

Item delivered. Box is severely damaged in a few places and the seal was broken, but only a small minor bit of damage, only the owner's manual is missing - probably fell out of one of the holes in the box, or when the box was opened? who knows? Not a deal breaker, the manuals are online, and I have others.

Looking at the condition of the box IDK how the item survived as well as it did. Not worth returning, but still disappointing, could have been total loss - given the condition of the box.

My guess is FedEx may have hired some former UPS workers who know how to damage packages. :D

Pirate Ship is a 'wholesale' shipper..3rd party...so you can buy shipping labels/insurance cheaper through them but are limited to UPS/USPS. No FedEx. But, it's about 1/3rd the price of going to the UPS hub and shipping; and probably 1/4th the cost of UPS store.

Oh, thanks for educating me!

idk what happened to fed ex in the last 10 years, but they took a major nosedive in every way. back in 2000's when i gear flipped like an obsessed maniac, they were the best option for speed, price, and customer service. Last year i waited 2 weeks for a mesa simul satellite combo that was coming from cali to Mi. it got "stuck" at one of the distro facilities, for like 10 days and i couldn't get any answers from anyone at fedex. I went on the fedex reddit, and tons of people had similar situations happening. so i know the feeling. good luck.

UPS is no better.

4.5 lb, 12x10x10 package for PA to FL next day. Went to online calc, was quoted $106. Printed label and shipped it.

1 week later 3 separate charges on my credit card totaling $248.

A $48 dollar charge was for an adjustment of 9.8 pounds and a box that was 12x11x11.

UPS said that they would credit me the $48 dollar charge because that was their error but won't do anything else.

Two weeks later now, no credit.

Be careful shipping with UPS.
