So I really love my M4. Great variety of really good tones.

However, I have noticed that when I'm on the vox B channel, I get some nasty feedback (not the good kind) when playing with the bridge pup on my LP. It's a lower mid frequency range, and quite annoying.

my signal chain for the purposes of this discussion is gtr -> m4 -> mesa 20/20 PA -> 2x12 w/ red fangs. (There's also a tc electronic g-system in there, but that's kind of acting as a switcher and doesn't really have any significant gain staging, so I don't think it would affect this scenario.)

I thought it was maybe some microphonic tubes, so I played around with some tung-sols, EH, and the stock sovteks, but it seems to happen regardless of tube choice. (BTW, which tube is V1? I don't see a silksreen on the modules) Then I thought it might be the pickup itself, so I went ahead and potted it with paraffin wax. Still didn't solve the issue (it may have been potted already, I don't know.)

I have also noticed a similar feedback when I'm on the SL b channel with my wah and an OD pedal both turned on.

Any ideas? This only happens on the bridge pickup in my paul, but it has happened in multiple rooms, and stages. I have not noticed it with other cabs, only my 2x12 with the red fangs. Have not noticed it with other guitars, either.

Thanks! (I love my m4 - and good God does that vox module sound awesome with my tele...)

I had a similar experience with my Les Paul. Took the lead pickup out and put a Suhr in there. No squeal, awesomeness in tonality too.

Thanks bro. Which Suhr did you go with?

I have been toying with the idea of changing pups on my paul anyway, and this problem may seal the deal.

Check out Motor City Pickups on myspace and talk to Wade you will not be unhappy!
