Fender bassman AB165 better/safer at 2ohms or 8ohms?

I have a nice Weber loaded MOJO 2x12" cab with two 4ohm speakers. I want to run it with the AB165. should I go 2 ohmd or 8ohms or not use it at all? I will be nowhere near pushing any thing's limits.

Thoughts?

I agree, safer at 8ohms for the amp.

If a speaker blows with your 2 4ohm speakers wired in series though, you will get an open load on the amp. Versus wiring them in parallel for 2ohms, it would be a 4ohm load if a speaker opens. Still I would wire the 2 4ohm speakers in series for an 8ohm load.

Exactly what I was thinking (but obviously I wasn't sure).

I don't push it that hard, and I solder my terminals on speakers so it's not likely one would vibrate off. And I have never blown a speaker. Cheers!
