Ok....been using this for YEARS....loved what it gave me and did for the amps.
Well.....long story short....I just had a Dual recto Modded by FJA....get it back and run the Maximizer thru the Loop.
Sounds like ASS!!
No matter what I tried with the amp....it sounded smothered.
So after talking with a few friends on here....trusting their word....
Went out and bought a Boss EQ 7 band pedal and tossed it in the loop.....
Holy crap...I should of done this YEARS ago!!!
Such a Crisp BRUTAL TONE....very very Edgy....not sterile....but makes the amp sound like its on Steroids...and then some!
Major major difference in the flavor that runs in this little pedal!
I am sold on it....and its never leaving the loop. Sounds SUPERB!!!

The BBE?? Might hook up to my home theater....

now you're talking, and thats the only place BBE's should belong

Jerry is working alot of magic these days, loving his Nick mods on all platforms - 5150, Mesa's, Marshalls, etc.

Have to give credit where credit is due

Yeah man...this amp simply put....SLAYS! :worship:
I just like that little bit of edge from that EQ.....not noticeable.....but shut it off and you can tell. ;)

'bout fucking time Dan! LOL! :D
Funny thing....it made some amps sound great....
but made a Great amp sound like SHIT!!

The Graphic EQ pedal...holy crap!!
Even with the Levels set straight in the middle....just click it on and BAM!!

A change in throughput changes the sound of the entire chain. Time to go back through every amp you've ever played and re-try them.

:hys:

Nah man......I am good. ;)

After years of having amps cranked out....this one does what I want and sounds bad ass.
Isnt that what matters? :D
It didnt change the core sound of the amp at all. Just accented it. Like adding salt to French Fries?

:hys: :hys:
I hated that fucking pedal. It was so addictive but it sucked so bad.

I had the GE7 for about 15 minutes a long time ago. I fiddled with it, then returned it back to Sam Ash. I fucking hate EQ.

Those things are complete pieces of shit. Welcome home, sir!

Steve

Congrats, man!

EQ in the loop is like a great secret sauce. You don't recognize the exact flavor, but you notice that it makes what you're eating taste better.

The BBE always gave me ear fatigue.

Dude i can't believe you still have that  Burn all pedals, except an OD808

WIN-WIN
BBE is like some bad illusion on guitar amps, always somehow tricking us guitarists
but that BBE is going to rock your TV audio setup!

Oh yeah!!! Maxon OD808 (Overdrive 0, Tone 5, Balance 10) that's the way to go
With my Triple Rectifier it was unbelievable!!!!
Too bad i had to sell that amp :(
Danno; you should try it, if you didn't already :)

Come on Dan, my BBE went into my home theater 15 years ago! Good for you.

Try and find you a good deal on a used Empress Para-EQ. I started running this in the loop of a few amps and it really opens things up. Instant wood......

I have a couple rack mount original Furman PQ3's to try as well. Since I have gotten away from the racks, I just leave the Empress on the pedal board and route the send/return to the board, along with the Time Factor.

Steve

The GE-7 can also be used as a boost in front of the amp, I like to stack it with an overdrive sometimes.
