Finally got myself a plug-in....

So I recently got myself an apartment near work and playing my real amps is out of the question. I've said it before, but if I'm not playing through two 4x12's I don't really want to play. But now I'm in a different situation. I still have my amps and jam room set up but it's 35 miles away and I realistically only get down there once every two weeks.
So I got myself the Nameless plug in. I haven't even tried it yet since my guitar, headphones, cables and interface are still in my jam space. I'm gonna go pick them up later today. But that's the plugin that I have liked best and seems to have my core tone to it.
I might consider one more while they are on sale. Something to complement it I guess. Any suggestions?
So since I won't be able to play like I'm used to I figured I'd actually record some riffs and actually turn them into songs. We shall see.

Any advice to a complete tech idiot with these plugins? I'm actually amazed I was able to even download them.

FWIW, my favorite guitar plug-in is PolyChromeDSP McRocklin Suite. They have a free demo version that is worth a try; and it runs standalone so no DAW required, just an audio interface. many usable factory patches, mostly for leads, simple UI, gain staging, EQ and effects.

Easy to use, and easy to get good / great sounds compared to more complex plugins IMO.

Still running a 50% off sale too!

FWIW, it's so good IMO, that I built a computer rig around it for guitar using a Dell rugged extreme touchscreen tablet:

The plugins have gotten MUCH better in the past year or two. I was never a huge fan of playing direct either, but messing with ToneX has changed it all for me. Now I own a bunch of IK Multimedia stuff, lol. I even just bought a crap ton of IRs this Black Friday.

I definitely think the newer crop of capture programs that use the AI Machine Learning stuff to make captures is much better than anything that came before it in plugins.

ToneX Max and Amplitube 5 Max have been on huge sales, and would also be a good ecosystem to have.

The one knob rev c is dope with a boost pedal in the input of an interface. Just keeps me from fucking with it, so i just play, and sounds good too. I have the nameless as well and prefer the one knob.

I forgot about those. They currently have the MLC plug-in for free! I'll try to download that as well as buy either the Rev C or 5150.

I’m very happy with the Neural DSP stuff.
I'm liking the Nameless so far with the little time I've played it while settling things up. I'm not able to open it in GarageBand so far though. I'll try again when I get off work.

I really like the nameless suite too, but it still gives me too many parameters. When im writing or learning the other guys riffs, i need to keep my head in the game. Ill try to make a clip of that rev c knob. Its just brutal with the stock ir and all.
The only one(IMO), that sounds as good is the josh Middleton stl 5150. Sumbitch sounds like a recorded 5150.

Well I ended up getting the One Knob MCL that was free!, the Rev C and the BDH. I haven't even tried them yet. I will today as soon as I get time.

Shit! I forgot to see if any drum software was on sale! I had EZ Drummer with the Drum kit from hell pack on my old computer.

€160 for the Nolly amp is hilarious. The old Revalver 3 5150 model sh*ts all over it. Amazing what you can do with slick graphics and marketing.
