Normally, I keep my rig at my church, but since I'm about to start doing the finishing tracks on a project I've been working on, I brought home the Mod50 and M4, and have been running the T/D in the Mod50 to just noodle, and test things out at home. I really fought with the T/D for a long time, but I have finally found a no compromise setting for both channels! I'm running the head into a Mod 2x12 w/ V30's. Here are my settings.

T side - Gain @ 2:30, master @ noon
D side - Gain @ 2:30, master @ 9:00
Bright switch on 1
Bass boost off
Bass maxed
Middle - 10:00
Treble - 2:00

Density and Presence both at noon

These settings were getting me that nice, full twin sound. Not thin or harsh, and also a really great pushed clean that's big, but not muddy. Got a Raytheon 5751 in V1, and a JJ ECC83 in V2. Very cool. I might just be selling off my new Twin module now.

Wow, gains at 2:30 with a T/D ?? You must have some low output pickups..

I have my gain at 4:00 on my T and its not distorted or driven. I use a '08 USA Deluxe Strat.

i always dimed my twin side master.. it sounded fantastic.. i miss my egnater rig sometimes :(

I haven't tried these settings with any effects yet. Just guitar (PRS CE24 w/ anderson humbuckers) to amp to cabinet. I'm not a huge fan of super clean sounds. The T side does stay pretty clean for the most part, but I can coax a little grit if I dig in really hard. I also use 11's, for the extra punch/volume they give. Makes you really feel a full bend.

I have a Custom 24 PRS...Does the Andersons give you warmer feel? Did you change the tone pot?
Im not liking the PRS vintage bass and HFS pickups at all. I dont know if it is a combination with the tone pot but it goes from bright to muddy and hard to keep in between.

I have two CE's. A 22 and a 24, and both of them had non stock pickups when I got them. The 22 has an Alnico pro bridge and '59 neck, and the 24 with the andersons. The 22's tone pot is basically useless, but I never use the tone pot anyway. The Anderson pups are a lot snappier than the SD's and definitely benefit from rolling off the tone now and again. The 24 is actually closer to stock, but it's a '92, so its electronics are a little different than the newer ones.

Thanks. My tone pot is 500k I think. It goes 0-bitch if you breath on it wrong, feels loose and hard to get in the same spot twice. Luv the guitar but think i am going to replace all the electronics in it.

Yeah. Typically the first thing I do with any guitar is tinker in the control cavity. I really like alpha pots. I typically get a pack of ten or so from mouser.

They're just the brand of potentiometer I like. Not too stiff, not too loose, just right. I keep 1 megΩ and 500kΩ on hand for my volume and tone controls for all my guitars.
