After alot of headache, someone finally just stuck with a deal and bought it. It arrived to them today safely. They reportedly love it.

I liked it. Pretty cool.
Didn't love it though.
It was a real love/hate relationship.

Next diezel might be a vh2 or Big Max.
(Later on after I try the MT100)

Get a bigmax. I had a vh2. Only reason i sold it is it was two channel. And i really didnt think it needed more than one...like most amps

Buy a Ground Zero Hellion

That amp rules . I’m going to mix a Diezel Herbert with my Hermanson /Hell Razor tone

I'll be real with you...
It was a disappointing 4 grand.

I just kept going back to the marshall beside it.
And prefer the archon voicing to the Herbert.

I think they are massively overpriced.

But I did scratch that Diezel itch. Yay.
I also actually prefer the white face versions.

Dude it’s ok. I find most people used to Marshall’s have a weird time setting up diezels . Especially with that mid switch .

It wasnt hard to set up.
One of the easier amps to dial.
One of the few that starting at noon actually works. I wouldn't say I'm used to dialing a marshall because I dial every amp in its own way. I don't dial a Mesa like a marshall or a diesel like a marshall. They all get their own unique treatment.

I just don't prefer the voicing of the amp. I gave it many many chances over a long time. It's just not worth 4k when I have $1200 amps that sound better to me in the room ?

I tweak alot of amps. But I'd take something like a deliverance, slx, savage, triple crown.... over a herbert every single time after spending quite a while with the herbert. Using different tubes. And speakers. It didn't do anything for me that other amps before it did except have a better clean channel and a certain compression that had pros and cons for the way I like something to feel.

It sounds cool in its own way.
But you can't dial the low mids out.
It's way too picky with speakers.

While I enjoyed the sounds and could be happy with it.... it just didn't wow me like other amps that costed less than half what it did so... I mean if that hurts peoples feelings then oh well ?

And I think the archon 100 does that sound better. The archon 100 is like the best sounding channel 3 VH4 vibe without quite as much compression.

The only reason I kept the Diezel here as long as I did was because the amount it costed had me making sure I didn't love it before sending it on.. that high dollar placebo is REAL.

The sad reality at the end of the day is a much less expensive amp sent it packing. More open aggressive mids. Less low mid clutter. Same room filling low end and chunk. More fun to play. Less picky with speakers. Made the Diezel sound processed when switching back and forth after long periods on the marshall. I found myself enjoying the overall package of sound and feel on the amp that costed 1/4 the price every time.

I just might not be a diezel guy.
If I do revisit... it will be a vh2/4
or something like a Hagen...

But I have a few things I'll be into before worrying about another diezel for now.

It was a fun experiment.

You should get one of those wizzer amps that Polish dude was talking about a while back.

Oh the castrated marshalls with the clanky attack?

The heel riser?

I am good on that. Thanks for suggestion.

I have other amps, and i don't feel an urgent need to "re-up" on anything after selling the Diezel. So this is more of a celebrating post I was able to let go of the financial placebo the Diezel had me trying to believe for so long. I wanted to believe it sounded like 4k but it just did not.

I'm more of a thrash guy. I liked looking at the herbert, fun messing with it. And my ego wanted to keep it as usual... but it just didn't make me happy like it should. Felt good to say goodbye.

*sighs of relief*

Hope you got a good price for it.

I've been wanting to try out a Herbert Mark III for a long time, but the price tag always makes it hard to justify.

Saving up for a VHX, as I think that will do the Herbert as well as a bunch of other Diezel amps. A bit more expensive, but I think the amount of tonal options makes it easier to have around without having a guilt trip.
