I've never seen Yngwie live and finally got tickets to see him with Glenn Hughes (another bucketlist). I'm not expecting the best show ever but will be cool seeing him since I've been listening sl to him since 85' or so.

I saw Robert Plant with Allison Krause the other day. So awesome and one of the best shows I've been to. Every song just sounded great and their voices soared. It was a great bucketlist moment.

Allison Krause is one of the greatest American musicians of all time. Have fun seeing the foookin fury!

I hope he doesn't eat too many slices of pizza and eat too many fucking boigurs before going on stage.

All jokes aside...I'd love to see Yngwie. I saw Michael Angelo a couple years ago and it was awesome.

I don't know who books him on the east coast ......but he's never in Boston.... Providence ..... it's always some place in New Hampshire ...

You can do what I did the last time I saw him. Hit the audio record button on your phone (with a full charge of course) and keep it in your pocket the whole show, if you want.

Saw him 3x times in ‘85 when he was all the rage . Fantastic performances but one of them was opening for AC/DC and Angus reminded everyone who was boss

Wife and I went to Krause and Plant last weekend. They sounded great, as expected. Very cool to see a living legend. Well, two living legends as Krause is one in her own right, but Page is an icon.

Dang, just checked on tickets for Robert Plant for the 15th. Show's cancelled, Allison had the flu. :(

Read my review from about a month back. That is what is likely coming your way... it's a good time though, total excess and exquisite douche baggerie'. He is a total character.

If you are lucky. Hughes will come out or invite him out for a few Purple tunes. Maybe mistreated and he can spew all over it YJM style.

I seen him in Steeler at the Country Club, in Reseda, in 1982.
And seen him many times.

If Yngwie Malmsteen would have kept the line up with Joe Lynn Turner from the 1987 , Odyssey Lp, he would have had much larger success, but his ego killed that opportunity.

He easily could have had the same level of success as White Snake ....

I agree. Even if Goran Edman had remained as the vocalist, Yngwie would have gained more success instead of the merry-go- round of singers he went through.

Seen him several times in the 90s and early 00s. Always awesome. I don't care what anyone says about him, I can't understand how a guitarist could not enjoy witnessing his performance. He's really on another level of fretboard mastery compared to the run-o-the-mill guys that are discussed here every day. Different of course but on par with Allan Holdsworth, EVH, John McLaughlin etc. Almost all of these guys are either dead or too old to perform. Yngwie is still there ! Enjoy while it lasts !

I think he’s worth seeing at least once, even if you only have a mild interest in him. Dude puts on a show and since he’s generally playing smaller venues you get to hear those fucking Marshalls tearing your face off quite well. I could only stand at the edge of the stage for a few seconds without earplugs, I just had to experience it.

I don’t even care that he’s gotten ”sloppy” over the years, Yngwie’s sloppy is the average dude’s best day ever and I’m not even an Yngwie fan. Dude’s a legend.

Very true ! Not a real fan either, I got a couple vinyls/CDs back in the day and haven't cared for years but the talent is immense and it's completely obvious when you get to see it and hear it in person. Totally worth it !

I've seen him numerous times and I would encourage anyone that plays guitar, go see him. Having said that, the last time I saw him, a few years back, it was so over the top it was almost comical. He has his hired guns literally crammed in a corner of the stage and he has the rest. He loosely plays the songs, to the point that the band got lost playing Far Beyond the Sun. They looked at each other and shrugged. I don't think Yngwie noticed, as the volume of his amps is so much louder than the band, he probably is only playing to the snare hits.

All that said, Yngwie is still Yngwie and if you're going to a show expecting less, you're in the wrong place.
