My first ever at making clips, and recording via computer. I used Reaper and my old Tascam 788 as a make shift interface.

Be nice....... any tips you can guve will be very much appreciated.

Signal path:

Juggernaut Prototype with EMG81 > ISP Decimator > Randall RG200ES or Randall Lynch Box with KH3, and 1086 modules > Krank 1x12 > Shure SM57 > Tascam 788 > Reaper.

Here they are: comments on recording welcome, comments on my shitty playing NOT. :D

i listened to the KH and the sloppy clip.

they're both cool, but KH sounded a lot better to my ears. which i guess maybe it's supposed to? the sloppy was a little hollow sounding, but guess that's amp deference?

but yea, pretty decent sound quality and riffage!

i still haven't haven't figured out how to get back and forth between my Tascam and my computer? guess i haven't really tried getting a WAV from the Tascam to the computer. but i gave up on getting a backing WAV from the computer to the Tascam, and haven't messed with it since.

I just did it the cheesy way and plugged the headphone out to the mic input of my computer. :D

Believe it or not, the mids and gain were on 5 on both the 1086, and the KH3

Yeah dude for 1st clips those sound great! You got just a bit of clipping/popping on KH3 clip, but other than that it's great. That 1086 clip sounded spectacular  !

digged them all dude  also, if ya speed up the 1086 clip a little, you got an awesome thrash metal song there

I liked the KH3 the most out of the 4. The 1086 sounds a bit too scooped for my taste. The first 2 sound ok. They'd probably work well for an 80's thrash tone kind of thing.

+1

The KH3 did sound great. All you need is some back tracks and it'll sound even better

Your clips sound fine. What I don't dig about them is 57, I just can't stand how it sounds (personal preference).

To dramatically improve your clips get something like DOD FX40b. I've just got one & man this thing can work magic with heavy distorted guitars.

Coll comparison clips. Liked the KH3 best! Good job! Recording will get easier the more you do it. Keep it up!

I think I like the 1086 the most. Too much gain though, but still pretty cool.

Thanks guys, I'll try to get some more done soon, the RG200 didnt translate as well recorded, MUCH heavier in the room, I'll try to get some better ones of it and the KH3.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the KH3 would've sounded much better if the quality was better

For some reason I had a hard time dialing in the KH3, but then again my monitoring is DESPERATELY LACKING..... I'm hoping to remedy that soon.
