The new boxes are billet-cut aluminum. Basically, our custom box supplier takes aluminum blocks and cuts out the box shape. It's essentially the same process used by Apple for their new MacBook Pro laptop computers.

How you doin' Ed? When do these ship out and what is the estimated cost?

What "camp" are these boosts going to be in? Clean, TS, etc...

It's a clean boost with a selectable midrange frequency boost on the right side that can be stacked on top of the clean boost.

More Koko porn, including some revealing inside shots!

you came out with the idea for new pedals, and I thought 'more pedals, just what we need'
and I expected the usual splatter of coloured widgets, yet you give us these gorgeous
beasts hewn from recycled iMacs, with remote switching, a mid humping switch, and a
battery housing that won't rattle.
I have other pedals I use just for the mid hump. May not need them soon.
I can hear The Blues blowing out of the pictures.

Looks absolutely killer Ed.

Can the Mid Boost be used seperate from the Clean Boost?

And what does the slide-switch by the AC jack do?

here is Ed's response to the same question from another forum
It's for the FX-Link. Basically, it's a way for MIDI to turn pedals on/off without having to insert them into a loop-switcher. All of the Suhr pedals (the ones coming out now and the ones planned for the future) will have this feature.

the FX-link is the other smaller connector by the slider

After some initial production glitches, the Koko Boost (as well as the Shiba overdrive) is shipping in volume now. Artists such as Guthrie Govan, Steve Stevens, Peter Thorn, Andy Wood and Steve Trovato have received theirs and are absolutely loving it. This is what Steve Stevens had to say after getting his:

"Hey John, this pedal is the shit. Build quality is amazing. Spent the day with it and someone would have to kill me for it back. No one is making any pedal near the quality of this...this is NASA grade stuff, man. I found the toggle in the left position to be my sweet spot."

After hearing the Shiba and Koko at the demo I want one now

i just got a couple in and I spent about an hour today putting the KOKO boost through its paces. this is a very well made and thought out pedal. the best thing to say is, that no matter how you use the KOKO Boost, it makes everything sound better. The pedal is very transparent when u kick it on without changing your tone in anyway. It also seems to have a ton of headroom and doesnt compress the sound at all. pretty killer pedal. its one of those things ill probably always have to have in my signal chain

This is from the manual regarding the true bypass/buffer operation:

The user can select the off state (pedal bypass) to be either buffered (unity gain) or true bypass. In true bypass state, there is no connection (other than Ground) to the signal. In addition, the input of the effect is terminated to ground.

Unplug the cables and remove the bottom cover 4 screws. Locate the small slide switch located on the edge of the pc board, toward the on/off switches. Orient the pedal with the on/off switches at the bottom, jacks at the top. Sliding the switch toward the left enables true bypass mode (TBP). Sliding the switch toward the right enables buffered mode (BUF). Replace the cover and secure it with the 4 screws. NOTE: This must be done with the pedal powered off!
