Fish "squeals" on Shark and Strato channels

This is probably a preamp tube issue but I just got the Fish reissue #87 and the Strato channel and Shark channel squeal if the gain or volume on the Strato and volume/balls on the Shark are too high. Any ideas or anyone else having this issue?
Country and Brown sound great...Strato and Shark sound OK long as the gain is not too high.

+1 on it being a preamp tube.
