Well, all the “flawed” old style modules are gone. These were the ones without voicing or “single/dual toggle switches. Since we still have guys/girls on the list who wanted stuff, here is what we are going to do. We ordered parts to build a bunch of “old style” dual channel modules (no voicing or single/dual toggle switches). These will sell for $275 (+$10 for shipping in the US) and be available around mid January. They are already going fast so, if you want in, please email me at begnater@aol.com to get on the wait list. Send no money until near the ship date but you do need to get in line. We will also have the newer version (which we have never stopped making) with voicing and single/dual toggles available at that time. All will be dual channel models. We do not make the single channel ones. Once on the list, we will notify a few days before they are ready to confirm.

Confused..........I was looking to buy a used Egnater Mod 50 and some old Modules like the SL2 and Bassman. Are these old modules flawed?

On a side note, when is the new modular system being released and will they be as good quality and tonally as the original Mod 50?

If you mean the new batch in January for $275, they will be built brand new. There will be a limited number so if you truly are interested, you should get "on the list" for when they are made.

Aren't they going to be mass released or produced with the new modular line? I don't have a Mod 50 yet, so I can't buy anything till spring or summer.

Bruce has normal dual modules available most of the time, meaning the new ones with the mid shift button and the a/b switch for use in Randall MTS amps - these are $385 (I think, details here http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=126282).

The ones in this post lack the mid shift and a/b switch and are hence cheaper at $275.

The Mod50 amps are not in production any more (but we do live in hope) - if you don't have Eganter USA modular equipment it would be worth looking at Bruce's other post this afternoon - here http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=128200. Otherwise Mod 50's come up on the MTSforum quite a bit, if in doubt you can post a WTB in the classified ad's :)

So what are the flawed modules?

I will end up just getting a used Mod 50 or maybe find a used Splawn Quickrod or used Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne.

The module faceplates are not 100% perfect. The modules perform at 100%. I got a couple and the faceplates are fine with me, a couple bumps/bruises, but a-OK.

agreed - i bought 3 and here's what i noticed:

1 was a dark gray instead of jet black
1 wasn't quite as uniform in texture on the faceplate and the lettering was a little fatter
1 didn't have the "D-S" label printed on it for dual/single that the others did

that was about it - all-in-all, minor stuff.

Yes, a couple have a slightly nonuniform testure/color on the faceplate. I'm being nitpicky here and so was Bruce. Most of the "flawed modules" I received could have been sold as new with little issue. Kudos to Bruce for cutting a few guys some deals.
