I have had about the same good luck with the Floyd Rose brand of brass blocks, and the FU Tone big brass blocks.
I believe both are made out of quality bell brass, which helps. Do yourself a favor, and don't go down the rabbit hole of other materials, like titanium, copper, tungsten, stone, etc for the construction of the block.....at least not until you try the big brass version.
Some people swear by using the same length as the stock block (32mm, 37mm, etc), just thicker and beefier brass, while some people prefer to measure out the clearance that is available in the back of the guitar (depth / thickness of body) and go a little longer. But, when going as big as possible, it sometimes prevents the plastic cavity cover from being reinstalled and / or, the block itself strikes the back of the routed guitar cavity.
If yours is an Original Floyd Rose / OFR model, then you should not have any issues finding the perfect fit, as they will specifically state that it fits the "Original Floyd Rose", or "OFR".
