I have been thinking about having Kyle make me a custom stereo amp for years based upon this Artemis (he said it will cost me around $5,000) and I realize I will never start the process unless I sell my Mint-Conditioned KSR Artemis II to generate the extra funds and room in my rack.

I paid around $3600 for this amp but I was never able to use it for band practice since the handles prevented me from placing it in a Gator case, so it had stay in it's box.

I did have the handles removed so I could place it in a rack but band practice slowed down and I didn't want to chance leaving it to get stolen at the drummer's place.

This has mainly sat in it's box for most of the time I have owned it (and yes, I am the 1st owner) so this amp has really low hours on it since I have been using other amps at practice (at home and the studio).

I have taken it to NAMM and people said they loved the sound and feel of the amp.

I'll need to take the amp out the shipping box to take some pictures but here is a link to a video of the actual amp: https://www.facebook.com/ksramps/videos ... 358373439/

I had Kyle switch out the EL34's for 6L6's and remove the handles during NAMM (the reason he made the video was to showcase the killer sound of the amp (and a LOT of people were saying it was a GREAT sounding amp)).

And yes, I still have the handles :-)

If anyone is going to NAMM this year and they would like to check it out then let me know so I can probably bring it to NAMM for you, and I can lower the price if no shipping is involved.

I thought I should mention that I am not interested in any trades since I am only selling this amp to get a stereo version of it.

I am fine with a payment plan for purchasing the amp since I do not need the money right away because Kyle would be building the amp over the year (probably longer, lol).

I did a payment plan through PayPal gifted with a few other Rig Talk members and they received their amps/guitars once they paid them off :-)

I made sure I kept in communication throughout the process.

It is also really easy to set up a midi controller like the Ground Control Pro with the Artemis.

Once it's connected you just choose your preset location on the controller, flip up the store button on the front of the Artemis, then stomp on your preset button, and it's saved :-)

You could also flip the switch up again as well and store it.

This is my favorite KSR amp due to tone, rackable, all the switching options, and it being midi controllable.

Well, I was just speaking to Kyle about getting the "stereo" version of this Artemis going and he said I should just buy a 2nd amp and run them in stereo :-)

I guess that would be one way to get a real unique sound going in a stereo set-up.

Of course, he did suggest that another KSR amp would be the "best" match up, lol.

If I could get my Orthos to sell, I’d pick this up. This is the version I want

It really is an awesome amp with a LOT of versatility and I am only willing to sell it so I can get a stereo version of this amp.

For many years I have been using a Marshall JMP-1, AXE FX XL+, and the Marshall EL34 50/50 at practice and shows.

This has allowed me to crank a 1x12 cab next to the drummer and have a completely different volume for my 4x12 cab that is next to me.

Many of my friends say I should just keep the Artemis and get another amp to run them in stereo to the two cabs but I have never tried something like that except with the XL+ so I am starting to research it since I would be losing a good chunk of money selling this amp instead of keeping it and putting some mileage on it.

I did the same for years and found a partial solution with a mono amp.

Run a high efficiency 8 ohm speaker (EVM12L/JBL E120) in a 1x12 for your drummer and a 8 or 16 ohm cab for yourself. Run the amp at 4 or 8 ohms and your drummer gets twice the power plus a few db from the speaker efficiency. An 8 ohm and 16 ohm in parallel is 5.3 ohms and works fine at 4 or 8 on your amp.

Worked well for me.

Why not just buy a stereo power amp and run W/D/W ? Keep this amp as the center channel and buy a large Boogie power amp for the wet sides...

Thanks for the advice, and it sounds like a very interesting way to get this kind of setup :-)

A great suggestion, so thank you very much :-)

Today I did start looking into what you mentioned here since I remembered the Artemis has a Slave Out which could go into a power amp.

One thing I didn't previously mention is that my "custom" KSR was going to have 2 more channels (something taken from another of the KSR models or a completely new thing) and an extra effects loop for my JMP-1 to get either mixed in or switched between KSR and JMP-1 :-)

Kyle said it would end up being a 4 space racked amp and it started bringing the price up above $5,000.

I am also trying to minimize the amount of equipment and cables I would need for a show so a stereo version of the Artemis sounded best to me but several of you have suggested some pretty good things here :-)

I did try a stereo setup today using the slave out and it sounded pretty cool :-)

Based upon recent conversations with Kyle, I don't think he really wants to design my stereo version of this amp, lol.

It sounds like it would be taking a lot longer to do the research and design for the stereo version than anticipated (probably over a year then build time) so I am in no rush to sell it and a payment plan is fine with me as well.

This is my favorite amp that I have owned and I have owned at least 20 of the most popular beasts over the years, you name it, and I probably had it :-)

Kyle puts a LOT of time and pride into making his amps and they really rock!!!

And I especially love the ability to swap out the power tubes and being able to bias the amp myself.

I haven't done it yet to the Artemis (Kyle did it for me (see the video link)) but I was able to do it with my Colossus and Gemini and it was extremely easy to put some KT88's then some EL34's then KT66's and even some 6L6's into those amps then determine the guitar and cab at home that worked best with each set of tubes.

I thought this information would be better than saying just BUMP :-)

This amp is in the process of being sold to a Rig Talk member through a payment plan with me so I am updating the subject line with "SOLD" in it.

Please note that if I place any other items up for sale that I am fine with a payment plan for them as well since I know it can help many people who like to make installments and you can always contact those people to verify that they received the items once the items had been paid off.
