for Smashing Pumpkins' fans and not, help me find this sound

hello i need a little help from the Smashing Pumpkins' fans or anyone who knows this song.

can you please give me an advice on setting the equalization - channel on the Herbert to get this distoriton sound-s you can hear on this song ?


the song is called Pastichio Medley - of course again by The Smashing Pumpkins and it is from the single album Zero.

the sound-s i like are on the song at the following times ( circa )


00:29-40

04:08-04:26

05:57- 06:10 !!!! the one i like the most

08:35-08:43

11:59-12:07

guitar used are: stratocasters and les pauls custom.
amps: jcm 800 with kt88 and marshal jmp1 powered with a mesa boogie strategy 500 amp
 
I think i know this song. it's the one they just improv the most of the time and just sounds live they are toying with the gear :lol: :LOL:
I like the song but i think SP sounds are kinda hard to get becouse they have a lot of rack gear and experiment a lot with pedals too...so in a song like this i wish you luck.
Also you seem to know the gear they use then and having only the Herbert it will be hard to pull off.
But i will give it another listen to the song. :thumbsup:
 
You cant get this sound out of a Herbert? It´s the easiest thing to do this. But i would choose the 3rd channel without midcut. Master about 10 o´clock. Treble 12, Mids 15, Bass 13:30, Presence 11, Deep 12-13, Gain 11, Channel Volume 9-10.
