About 5 months ago my High input on the tourmaster head snapped as my other guitar player yanked my cord out of the head after a practice. I was able to screw the piece of plastic back in and it hadnt given me problems until recently. Despite my attempts to tie down the cable it just pops out after normal use now. I would like to have it replaced but im not really willing to spend another 140 dollars to mail the unit back to you guys and I need it for regular shows. Despite my lack of experience in tube amps I am well versed in electronics repair and know I would have no problem replacing the part if you could send me a replacement and a brief description on how to dismantle the unit. If the information is available I would appreciate some direction.

bump since i think this might have gotten overlooked, you could probably email jeff or bruce

Hi Bruce, I just joined the Rig-Talk forum. I'm a guitar player of over 30 years and have played through many rigs, including Marshalls and Fenders, and I must say that today I went to Guitar Center in San Francisco and I tried out your Renegade 65 head and 2x12 cabinet and was blown away by the sound and the dynamics! I do have one question for you. I was originally walking into the store with a bias on speakers towards Celestion Vintage 30s, which I know you stock in your 4x12 cabinets. Is there a reason you stock the Celestion Elite 80s, and not the Vintage 30s, in your 2 x 12? I'm sure there is cause you're one heck of an amp builder and I'm sure you appreciate the nuances of good tone and found some reason that the Elite 80s were better in this config.

Anyway I'm not expecting an immediate response or anything cause you're running a company and I'm just one guitar player with a question, but I am seriously considering going back to Guitar Center this weekend and buying your rig, so your answer would be helpful to my decision making process (which is, do I buy the 4x12 cabinet or the 2x12, and currently I'm leaning towards the 2x12 cause I don't like the idea of lugging around a 100-lb. 4x12 cabinet anymore).

Welcome Rich!

Your best bet is to actually start a NEW thread with this same Question, so it doesn't get lost in the mix of this thread.

That way, Bruce, Jeff, or a bunch of forumites can jump in and answer your question for you.

IMHO, the V30s sound best in a 4x12, where you can get 4 of them pumping well. That is..if you like V30s...which I personally don't :). The Elite 80, is a good high-wattage speaker that does VERY well in 2x12s. It has more low end and low mids vs. a V30 loaded 2x12 which helps fill out the sound.

In a 2x12, it'd be great sound...getting you more of a feel of a 4x12 in the size of a 2x12. I know in their Renegade 2x12 they are now doing a V30 and a Elite 80, which is a great combo to mix with.

I have the tourmaster 4100 and run it through a 2x12 for the same reason. I definitely enjoyed the sound of the 4x12 cab but the difference in sound was too hard to ignore. The sound of 2x12 is incredibly versatile and like stated as a little bit more low end that just fills out the tone oh so nicely.
