Hello Eggies,
I got my hands on a Keeley modded Boss Blues Driver. I messed with it for three weeks before checking in. I see a constant request for drive pedals that offer "just a touch of gain" or a "tad more boost for solos" without altering the overall tone, well IMO this pedal does exactly that. The swicthing unit is dead quiet (I was engaging it as slow and lightly as possible and never once did I hear a pop or click, nothing at all). The pedal is very transparent. The true bypass is excellent.(I would like Keeley to true bypass all my pedals, waiting for a response). They install a "phat" switch which is very suttle but you do hear a slight boost on your bottom strings but does'nt muddy the top strings.(this is described in the manual.) I don't know how they did that, but they did! Now, when I used it in a band situation my amp was singing with clearity and really stood out in the mix. I have been using Turbo Tube Screamers for a while and was a little unsure about spending that kind of cash on an overdrive but I am glad I did, big difference in quality and performance. My R20 is now a 2 channel rig. Livin the dream!
