So, I've had my Cobra for a few weeks now and I'm digging it very much. I've seen quite a few people say Channel 2 is even better when boosted. For those of you who own/have owned the Cobra and boosted it, what did you use and what were your settings? Did you use a clean boost, an EQ, an OD? If you used an OD, did you just run the level up or did you add a bit more dirt?

Just looking for some ideas before I start tweaking with the BB Pre.

the BB should work killer with it. Keep the BB OD below 9:00, and the level above 1:00. You don't want it adding a lot of it's own dirt, but rather juicing your input with some hair. Try the midcut feature off on ch2, and keep your ch. vol jacked up over 2:00-3:00. It sounds better with ch vols higher IMO, and use the master to control volume levels. IIRC, the loop was tricky on it too, I always ran it around 12:00 on the mix.

I always used a maxon od808 as a clean boost, i had my level at 3:00, tone at 11:30 and gain at 8:30

wylde overdrive

tried my vintage maxon EQ as a mid boost/bass cut too, but the response is quite different from an overdrive
higher output, more noise, more midrange crunch and more aggressive edge than a screamer or the wylde
not as wet as an overdrive

an 808 can't be a "clean" boost
a clean boost is meant to be (nearly) 100% transparent
screamers have a very strong character (which is actually good)

a true clean boost is not really a good idea for a Cobra, unless you have a Fender with single coils or something
the Cobra is an extremely bass heavy amp and an already heavy sounding guitar with a clean boost will be overkill for the low end
