Not really a demo since it’s a polished mix, but I have no doubt it’ll sound great.

No idea what’s up with Jake standing behind the bar instead of just playing the thing himself.

Really interesting that this has a Tubescreamer style boost built in. One of my big complaints with the IR-X was the boost was too round and tubby.

it’s a polished

This is the thing with Friedman’s I hear, there’s just a weird “polished” thing I can’t really describe.. like I have no real critiques of this tone, but at the same time there’s nothing that excites me either. If I bought a modeler and pulled up “generic rock”, I’d expect it to sound like this

I feel the same way with the BE amps but I feel the JL amps and the Plex definitely bring back the rawness for my ears. I actually dig the Little Sister too as far as small amps go.

The polished thing is what keeps me away from Friedman's. If Dave decides to release a JEL Synergy module, I would buy it though.

I'm with you.. this one has more teeth but what I want, is Marshall to do this with their 1959, 800, and Jose in one tube preamp box. With Friedman's stuff, I hear these hollow mids. I can't explain it. I think he got it right years ago with the Randall modules he did for Lynch" Grail, Scary, Brahma. But his stuff is polished. It's those Friedman mids doing it. I would have to hear more of this one to gauge how raw it is. I'd like to hear Jake himself demo it. Into Plexi channel, boosted.

This pedal is essentially that with more features.. I think Dave has been smart with these as they are synergy and then some that don't need the hardware host amp boxes to work. But maybe Dave would release a Friedman IR-P(Plex) and we'd still complain about soft mids. I don't know.

Because Jake doesn't rip like he used to and this guy now who they have demo the Friedman stuff is an insane player. That said, Jake just riffing through there and doing sloppy leads would be a much better marketing tool.

Sounds very cool. I have a JEL50 on order (it’s actually already at Sweetwater but they won’t release it until 10/31), but that new Bogner Snorkler 50 is just screaming my name.

Jake's been having trouble with his right hand and wrist. He discusses this in the most recent Tone Talk video.
