This is a rare strings through body Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray.
The only things missing are the original case, but it comes with a used EBMM bass hardshell case, and the felt mute for the E string. Everything else on this bass is complete, and original from 1986.
This bass has been played quite a lot, and you can see that by all the playing wear. Lots of dings, scratches and dents on both the body and neck. There is also a little bit of pitting on the frets, very minor, but they are the original ones and still have plenty of life left on them.
Now for the good part... this is a very unusual Stingray from 1986. It has an amazing large maple neck and fingerboard, 50's P Bass style, that plays like butter and it's straight as an arrow.
It also sports the 4 knobs, with the 3 band eq, long bridge with felt mutes(E string felt missing) and strings through body!
It's also, an incredibly light weight 80s Stingray, weighting at exact 9 pounds and 1.0 ounces, at my digital scale.
The weight it's also perfectly balanced and distributed between neck and body.
The pickup is a super strong MM humbucker that reads at 31.2 K at the output jack, and growls more than any other MM I've heard to this day.
When you combine the lightweight body, choice of wood, strong passive pickup and active three band eq, you have one of the most versatile bass ever built, that can do from Motown to Metal. All extremely well.
