For sale is my amazing Benson Vincent. This amp just returned from service at Benson HQ last month and everything is in tip-top shape. While it was there, I had them do two small mods. I will provide the correspondence at your request.
First, I had a bright cap added on a push/pull pot to the volume on the clean channel. This will add a little sparkle to the top end and let the amp capture a little more throttle at lower volumes.
Second, I had the overdrive channel modded with the "traditional OD" mod; meaning, it is less like a fuzz pedal and instead sounds more like a traditional overdrive sound. It's a small difference... it just makes the overdrive channel sound more like a Fender/Marshall overdrive instead of a Big Muff.
The amp is currently tubed with JJ 12AX7's in the preamp, JJ EL34L's in the power section, and a NOS Telefunken EL84 for the drive channel. The Telefunken is from the 1960s and is a $200 value if you were to buy it new. If you do not want it, I will remove $100 from the purchase price and tube the amp with a JJ EL84. Just make an offer for $100 less than the purchase price and note that you do not want the NOS EL84.
The amp sounds incredible and I'm very, very sad to have to let this one go. I know I'll never get another like it, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
You can see me demo this exact amp in the video below, including the mod features.
I am not interested in any trades. All sales final. This amp has always been kept in my home studio and never gigged.
