I was sad when Zoltan dropped Dean and his AR6, and honestly was a bit disgusted being him with this Assassin...I hated it, until I got this one.
Being honest I consider any B.C.Rich after 86 to be sub guitars to any of their peer at the price range, never even looked twice at one...this one was the same case, with the only different that I dig FFDP and I do like Zoltan's taste in guitars. So, when the opportunity to grab one came up, I decided to give it a chance....and it was OK. Nothing that took my breath away (unlike that Uppercut or GT above) just a solid neck through shredder that is a great guitar on the used market. Awesome axe for the FFDP fan for sure, and I think it is step above in terms of general appear from his AR6.
It has all the beautiful features you'd expect to see in a cool guitar. Neck through, maple burl top, maple board, some lion thingy on the 3rd fret, all the logos are wire in the clear coat (not paint, which is awesome looking thing).
Badass Pick Ups, they surprised me the most. Sound solid, powerful tight metal, I was genuinely surprised!
Floyd Rose, and that's pretty much it.
I think I'm still stuck in those old days when handcrafted B.C. Rich ruled the world and nothing new can sway me, so it is a solid beautiful guitar, from a guitarist of one of my favorite metal bands..but, it is the least favorite guitar on this list.
Soft Gibson bag included.
Trades are absolutely welcomed!
