I'm interested in these two boost pedals.

Can anyone compare and contrast these two for me?

I've had both and much prefer the Fulldrive II Mosfet. I had an OCD version 4 and it sounded great at home but with the band it wouldn't cut. I've read about others having success with it, but it just didn't work for me. The Fulldrive is unstoppable in a band situation.

The FD2 is like a good modded tube screamer with the addition of a separate clean boost. Think warm, lower-gain tones used where you would normally use a TS plus the versatility of the boost.

The OCD is a more open, less compressed, amplike sound with more gain and a wider tone control range, and the boost available is not separately switchable like on the FD2.

I love both personally...

the two are very different quite honestly.

The OCD has crazy amounts of gain, to me, it feels like a distortion pedal rather than simply an overdrive pedal. It's got a lot more texture and grit to it, very heavy for a pedal. Of course, you can always dial down the gain, and it works ok as a boost. I A/Bed that and the FD2 for about an hour through a Fender Deluxe Reverb, all on the clean channel, and I could get pretty heavy tones with that single pedal alone.

The Fulltone MOSFET II is your traditional Tubescreamer, pretty much what a Tubescreamer should sound like, a lot closer to the original TS808s than many of the TS808s and TS9s on the market today. My personal favorite overdrive pedal. It's very smooth, perfect for leads, and it can get a little rougher depending on how you set the Tone knob, but it's inherently a very smooth overdrive pedal. Might not be the wisest choice for metal rhythm, but did I mention it's good for leads? It works VERY well as a clean boost too, and it's got a Comp Cut switch to boost up your presence, MOSFET switch, another Boost tap.... It's a great pedal. Not as much gain like the OCD, but enough if you have an already high gain amp.

Well, being that I"m not looking for a distortion pedal, and I like the TS9 type pedals, I guess I'd be better off with the FD2.

That sums it all up to a "T" Ratter.

I would also add that these 2 pedals stack incredibly well. I ran these 2 together at a few gigs in front of my JCM800 and it was totally kick ass.

Thanks for the help guys, I just ordered the FD2 and a Maxon VOP9.

Let's see if one of them can beat out my trusty TS9!
