Really like the TAD 6l6wgc-STR a bunch. Right up there with the TS 5881 in my opinion and maybe a bit better. I also may like these better than the 6550's....... :shocked: :shocked:

How do the mids compare to the 5881s and 6550s? Did you try some EL34s?

Honestly, not sure you'd dig 'em Rich. I know you are a thick type EL34 guy. These are more in line with the 5881's. A little less mids than the 6550's. Just a nice balanced and clear tube for both types of modules. I need to really put some volume on them though to really test them.

Cool, thanks. I know I didn't like the KT88s in my VHT, but I can dig the 5881s in the Mod 50.
I still want to order some 6550s.
