What is the function of V1 vs. V2 in the modules. Seems like I read a post by Jeff where he indicated V1 mostly affects the amount of overall gain, while V2 plays the biggest part in tone shaping. Is this right?

I believe my post was that V1 in the chassis doesn't really effect the tone shaping just input gain. The V1 and V2 in the module is where you will have the most tone and gain effect.

Thanks Jeff. is there a functional difference between V1 and V2 in the modules? just curious because it seems like some folks are using combinations of different pre tubes in V1 and V2

Thanks
Rick

Just positioned in the circuit differently. It like making cookie dough..2 different chips..butterscotch and chocolate make it really good.

I don't want to be a buzzkill, but I find the chassis tubes to have a HUGE effect on tone.

Maybe it's just the lower one, but I'm talking drastic. Or maybe I had a a couple of really bad tubes.

That's cool I only post what we see on a scope and not much what we may hear personally. If you hear a difference then great!
