I can pick one of the black face / red knobbie ones up in my area at a reasonable price. Do I want one for the mojo with my 2204's and Plexi clone? I dig my GE-10, thinking this would be fun for some old RATT tones or to do the Aldrich thing. Noisy yes, but mojo. Anyone like this unit or did you tire of it after a while? Seems to me these units really kick Marshalls into modded territory.

get it. you'll be able to flip it easily if you don't bond with it.

i did have a few pq 3's and 4's back in the day. i don't remember the noise issues everyone talks about, and they seemed to do their job quite well.

What is a reasonable price these days? I had one 20 years ago I left at a drummers house that was kicked out of the band which i wasn’t gonna bother going back to get, wish I still had it

Ok, going for it.. want to get my Aldrich on and love having old gear to mess with.

Holy geez. Aren’t there a couple companies now that supposedly made clones, anyone ever compare?
A few clones out there....I believe in PEDAL form mostly. But there are variations and other products that cAn do pretty much the same thing....but people seem to really like the too dirty noisy aspect of the original.

Have not compared.

Yeah Michael Nielsen has as did the company that designed it. the pedal is 400$ CAD for me as well ( if not more) and to be honest, I found the rack unit to be more transparent and less bass heavy. The pedal is good though

I have an Ashly pq16 I use, works fine for what I need it to. The new Ibanez parametric pedal looks tempting for not much money

If you got it for less than $500 then you did good. :2thumbsup: The pots tend to be dirty and scratchy but overall they are built like tanks. You will probably need a noisegate up front before the input if you are running it up front ala Dime level boost. I do believe the PQ3 have a footswitch jack on them making them footswitchable on/off with a single latching footswitch.

I sold mine a couple of years ago and have been using a VFE Standout in it's place and love it. I would like to try out those Master Effects units one day but the VFE really covers what my PQ3 did for my application.

Trying to find a time to meet up to get the unit but I will let you guys know what I got it for once I have it in my hands. I've learned that deals can fall apart quick out in the marketplace world!
