Fuzz to mush, what module for taking pedals?

Kinda add on to my master for clean tone post. Bit diff topic. Any of you guys run fuzz pedals? If so what module do you push them into. The BMAN seems to fart out at the low end (guess that is freaking accurate cause real Bassmans do that too haha), T/D is a bit bottm end weak. Vox is to crackly (is everyone elses Vox ch A kinda shattery? Mine is never truly clear).

Just wondering what everyone else does. I have finally found one thing I cant get my MOD50 to do. Shoegaze, spaced out sludge fuzz. My Super Reverb handles it fine but who wants to haul more than one amp to jam :)

I've never run any type of fuzz or distortion pedal into any of my clean to lower gain modules so I can't comment.
I'm sure some of the other guys will.

I was messing with some OD/Fuzz box's last week. I tried a Zendrive SE, Skreddy Lunar Module, and a Timmy. I happened to think the BMAN out of all of the Egnater modules I own (VX, COD, EG5) worked best. I have the setting for the BMAN pretty neutral all around noon. No bass boost or bright. The COD A channel was a close second.

That being said my Jaded Faith Deluxe hands down is the module for FX/fuzz/OD. It is the cleanest module I own so it's no surprise. The VX breaks up early much like a real AC30 when you push it. That glassiness does not lend itself well to pedals IMO. EG5 with either fuzz or OD was pretty noisy though I could get it under control with the gate in my GMajor2. Talk about completely saturated sludgery! A very unique sound for sure.

Dude have I been living under a rock what is the Jaded Faith Deluxe yuou speak of and where can i get info about it?????? Sounds cool. When you say BMAN all around noon do you mean the gain and master knobs at noon too? Oh and are you using Cha or B on the BMAN and what tube in the V12. Sorry for all the questions but I gotta know. Thanks

Never use pedals except for SL module. Definitely takes them well.

Also, I used same Trans. OD pedal on T/D (D side) for Nuno, Punchline-ish tone a while back
with decent results. No fuzz pedals, though. Hope that helps.

SL Channel A with gain @ 9:00

Oh yeah. You know, with the mids cut a little my SL has a nice clean sound too. Bman was also good with pedals on A.

Rob from Jaded Faith does mods out of NJ. Quality work. I just shipped him a stock Randall Deluxe and asked him to get it closer to Fender territory. I run mine with the gain around 10 o'clock, eq around noon, master around 2, bright engaged. I use a Sylvania 5751 in V1 and 12ax7EH in V2. It is a very fat clean with a hint of sizzle in the top end. Absolutely killer take on a Fender and pretty cheap too. You can e-mail him at jadedfaith7@hotmail.com just ask him to do what he did for me.

For BMAN the gains were at noon, EQ was all around noon. Bass boost bright 0. Volume for channel A was cranked, B was around 2. Both stock Sovtek AX7's in V1/V2. I tried a few types of tubes RCA AX7 gray's, Sylvania 5751's, and a GE AX7 gray. I prefer the stock tubes. Another cool setting I like is bass, mids, treble at 2pm, bass boost 1 bright 0.

I just went down and messed with the BMAN for a bit to try to coax it toward the JF Deluxe. I could somewhat approximate it with Bright and bass boost 1, bass 4 o'clock, mids 3 o'clock, treble 10 o'clock. The BMAN acts differently in the low to mid range to my ears. I'm sure a lot of what I'm hearing differently is the tubes also.

Both are great modules and take pedals extremely well IMO.

Damn the boosts haha I always use the bright/bass switch at 1 on the BMAN for cleans. I love that tone. It was the culprit of the mush. Thx chode for the settings. Took the boosts off and ran fuzzies and whattya know the BMAN sounds real good. A/B against my super (which one side is modded very Bassman like) it is very close. No more mush. Wish I snagged that DLX module for 235 Eric got though :(

Sure man no problem. I'm using my BMAN channel A in conjunction with my LR Baggs system in the Godin for acoustic stuff. That is something that the BMAN does better than any of the other modules in my arsenal. That is yet another reason I try to run it pretty neutral. Even channel B sounds good acoustic with a little delay and verb.

I agree with Chode7, Bassman. The vox and Sl do take pedals well, but I think the B'man is tops.
