ok guys, I noticed something today... I'm running my Boss ME-50 multi effects in front of the Einstein, and it's eating my tone a little bit.... I notice it more when the gain is up (chn.1 mode 3 and chn.2) the guitar sounds less distorted (like the ME-50 is eating the tone a bit). I've heard things like this can happen.

Will this get sorted if I run the ME-50 on the loop?

If so, I'm not sure which one's better (parallel or serial)

some input please :)

In general:
1. the more direct the signal path from guitar to amp's input is the better. Thus, try to use your effect units in the loop in order to minimize the signal decradation created by the effect unit. However, some effects such as overdrive etc. should be placed in front of the amp.
2. Modulation effects (e.g. chorus, flanger, phaser) should be placed in serial loop and time based (i.e. delay and reverb) in the parallel loop.
3. Some people prefer more uncommon setups and thus use i.e. delay in front of the amp and distortion in the serial loop. :D

I wonder what kind of effects you use from the ME-50? Both modular as well as time based?

As always there's no rule concerning interconnections but chorus, flanger and phaser are delay derivatives too and they should go to the parallel loop IMHO.
Only compressors, EQ, filters and gates should go to the serial loop.

thanks for answering.

That's the thing, I use the ME-50 for pretty much everything it does (OD pedals, time based effects and modulation effects) So I need to place the unit in a place where most of the fx/ODs sound good, and SPECIALLY where my tone doesn't get sucked up by the multieffect.

any ideas?

i used a tc electronic g-major in the serial fx loop and it diminished the volume and a bit of the tone. in the parallel loop the issue was solved but some of the effects do not sound good in the parallel loop.

guys, where do you have the FX loop knob set to? I threw the ME-50 in the parallel loop (it's sounding VERY good, even the OD pedals settings) I have the knob in the 1:00 position...where should it be?

The only thing is not working in the ME-50 while is in the loop is the volume pedal

You have to run the knob 100% wet or you will have odd phase cancelling problems. That could be why the thing isn't sounding/acting like it should.
